I have been working at EDF Renewable Energy full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Average pay. Great healthcare plan. Good level of knowledge from field engineers. Vacation time is good. Onsite training is helpful. On the job training in relation to knowledge needed. Open about safety.

    Cons

Poor supervisor and poor management. Good old boy club type management. Could be more open about upcoming contracts in relation to job security. Don't plan on HR listening to your problem. Raises are rare.

I have been working at EDF Renewable Energy full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Some of the employees are kind and hardworking. Good benefits.

    Cons

Management promotes employees that are inexperienced and unqualified to Management and therefore do not know how to manage their staff or projects. It creates a chaotic, inefficient and cutthroat mentality. Staff actually say, that is not my job.
    Overall unprofessional environment.
They do not support or encourage personal and professional growth as there is no follow through by management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a more professional, well managed environment.

I have been working at EDF Renewable Energy

    Pros

Great concept of changing from electricity to wind energy.

    Cons

Communication to office in Montreal because that is where all the accounting is done.
Should have conducted an interview before the contract began rather than starting a stranger right in on the position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Include Office Manager in on more SAP training with an English speaking teacher.

I have been working at EDF Renewable Energy

    Pros

Really great, close knit group of people. Exciting work, ability to travel to unique places. And you get to build cool things! green energy! Honestly, everything about the jobs and individuals who work there are fantastic. If management starts to really lead and pull things together like they are trying to right now, it couold be a really awesome place to work in 5 years. They have all the right pieces, management just hasn't quite figured out how to put them all together yet.

    Cons

Weak management that is getting better. Internal politics drive this company, not strategy. Not a fantastic place for women and minorities - you won't be heard. (there is still a bit of good old boy club running around in senior positions). Change is managed poorly. Low accountability and feedback. The past 5 years have been a real challenge for this company, and the current outlook is questionable thanks to historical lack of management follow through, contracting of customer base, and uncertainly in government regulations.

    Negative Outlook
