I worked at EDF Trading as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The people that work (worked?) there are fun to be around. There are a lot of young people to connect and hang out with.

    Cons

Management has a poor relationship with HR and, it seemed, with headquarters. There's a very high turnover among the higher levels of the organization. It's a very aggressive, competitive culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get yourselves together. Build a brand in the US as a company that people want to work for, and value your employees.

I worked at EDF Trading as an intern

    Pros

Predominantly young, fun workforce. It's easy to make friends. The office is in a good location not too far from the Memorial area.

    Cons

The trade floor is a bit of a boys' club; very competitive and aggressive. Managers and HR clash, with no one wanting to take ownership of issues that arise. There's some workplace drama.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take ownership of problems that come up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please put career growth plans in place for employees - identify growth plans and help employees to achieve the plan

I have been working at EDF Trading

    Pros

Friendly and helpful colleagues and pleasant, well-equipped office. Good salary and conditions. Training program well established, and excellent sponsorship opportunities for employees. The core business of EDFT is very interesting.

    Cons

Buck-passing culture, Inability to manage progress against strategic company goals. Senior management are not respected within the company. Interminable meetings! High staff turnover, low morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop searching for magic solutions that will solve all your problems at once. Need to start promoting effective teams and teamwork. You must see that there is a reason nothing progresses, despite a strong desire for change. You should be looking for incremental change, a culture of delivery from unified teams, and a resulting boost in company morale.
