Pros
laid-back working environment. people nice to work with
Cons
bad pay and performance view is a joke
Pros
Colleagues are good solid people.
Cons
No pay raises for what seems like forever. Promotions give you a higher title and more work but same pay.
Advice to Senior Management
Properly compensate your employees. The new company bonus plan is a joke.
Pros
Flexible working ours (you don't have to show up at 9 am as long as you work 8 hours a day)
Cons
Very low salary and benefits.
There is no growth potential at all. They would always look for someone from outside to fill a position rather than promoting someone.
The owner and the top management robbed the employees for several years (no bonuses and no RRSP contributions and reduced benefits) in order to look profitable in the eyes of potential buyers.
Pros
--People are friendly to work with.
--Learn some basic tricks of programming
--benefit is not very good, but it is ok.
--Office is nice with very good view.
Cons
--Promotion is just a joke, I had worked with EFI for about 5 years, I got promotion 3 times(my annual performance ranking is always outstanding), the only thing changes is my title, the overall salary increase is about $12000 in more than 5 years and get $3000--$4000 cash bonus per year plus some stock options (lucky thing is I do make a little profit from those options:)). it is really a joke, On the other hand, I work for another company for around 5 years right after EFI, I got 2 times promotion, total salary increase is around $35000 + 20K cash bonus per year+25K stock bonus per year.
--Technology is too old and narrow, It is ok to stay 1--2 year and learn some basic stuff. not too long. I stayed too long for my GC:(
--Senior leadership, They are busy to increase their compensation and nothing else.
Advice to Senior Management
Change current management team. better compensation for outstanding employee.
Pros
good work life balance and niche product line for the print industry
Cons
salary are not to market standards, very short term vision, don't invest on people for long term,
Advice to Senior Management
empower the middle management to take decision , top down approach, sometimes ground level people know the real issue.
Pros
Work culture - solid technical exposure - lots of business exposure. Opportunity to innovate. Very stable financially. good salary policies
Cons
Slow to change - need specialized people for specialized tasks - need to listen more to employees - better policies
Pros
Most employees I met are competent and friendly. Physically, the corporate HQ building is very modern and nice with outstanding views. The location is commute friendly from nearly everywhere in the bay area. The onsite cafe has good food and Peet's coffee. Fountain drinks are free. Usually 12-14 paid holidays per year. Good work/life balance.
Cons
Too much mandatory vacation. Stock options and RSUs no longer given to most employees outside engineering. Foster City office shrinking, most hiring done in other locations. Hard to get budget for, well, anything.
Advice to Senior Management
Have a long-term vision and stick with it. Focus more on annual results and less on quarterly. Reduce the number of mandatory vacation days. Spend a few dollars more per year on each employee.
Pros
Work - life balance is always maintained.
Good place to settle down for managers.
Cons
Very niche domain. Very few other employers may like the domain expertize.
Not a good place for technologists.
Advice to Senior Management
Please avoid regional politics. It spoils the work culture.
Pros
good work atmosphere. peers will always help in your work.
Cons
little room for promotion when you don't let anyone know of how hard you're working.
Advice to Senior Management
the little people make the company. keep them happy
Pros
i have not found any except you can take printout any nos for free.
Cons
very few people have knowledge of their module.
most issues are bug fixing rather than development.
not a good place to start your career with.
very less career growth.
very less bonus and hikes despite of you better performance.
very much politics are there in teams.
