Pros
Great colleagues, wide spectrum of technical opportunities, interaction and communication with many teams in different engineering areas that is beneficiary to your professional career development.
Cons
Decision making process is terribly slow and depends a lot on people who sit too high above to be reached and to react promptly on certain case or situation
Advice to Senior Management
Delegate authority and decision making to those who are at lower than SVP levels. Do not conduct restructuring every half a year and even before getting results of the previous one.
Pros
many opportunities to grow, big parking lot
Cons
lack of communication between manager and employee
Advice to Senior Management
give feedback to employee
Pros
Great technology and recent M&A's. Forward thinking vision and alot of smart people around you.
Cons
Can get very hectic so work-like-balance will suffer. It's not unusual for people to 60-70 hour weeks. Internal IT system is archaic and is a nightmare to navigate. Finding relevant information is a challenge.
Advice to Senior Management
Support the development of the partner community. Have a more realistic Sales Reps to TC's ratio. Have a more structured onboarding process for new hires. Fix the ancient internal IT system.
Pros
Good technology , training, and processes.
Cons
Not the best paying company.
Advice to Senior Management
Get back to customer service basics which used to be a core value.
Pros
Reasonable pay
Opportunities for movement within company
Cons
Politics/structure often works against progress in some areas
Advice to Senior Management
Need more focus, less churn
Pros
The benefits package is great and you'll meet lots of really neat people. Some of the people I met there, I'm still friends with. They have some amazing products and are very tech savvy when it comes to ways to sell them.
Cons
Middle management really keeps the smart people down. If any of them feel threatened by someone who can really make things happen, you will get passed up time and time again for a promotion. They seem to be very fearful of firing bad managers as well as people who have just been there so long that they are fixtures, regardless of their ability to lead.
Advice to Senior Management
They really need to start looking for people who are intelligent, bright, and want to change things. Right now, it's an old boys network that just seems to keep promoting each other while the company falters.
Pros
Large amounts of training.
Working with inside sales.
Very focused on revenue and getting a deal. The overarching win win at any cost attitude can be infectious
Cons
Very little work life balance.
Very black and white when it comes to being a employee, either everything for EMC or your an outsider on the team.
Advice to Senior Management
The EMC reputation is not good from both the customers and the employees
Pros
Benefits and compensation are on par with other IT product companies. But it still could be made better. Options like Working from home, leaves when necessary are not at all an issue in EMC. It takes care of employees benefits very well. It has a wide range of products and business units. Its a good place for a family man/woman who wishes to have a balanced life & work
Cons
employee's career growth is not taken care or there are not much opportunities offered for career growth. Not much feedback given to the employees. The companies culture should change a bit to involve more energetic top managers/personalities who inspire others to work.
Pros
Excellent benefits, great learning environment, fast paced
Cons
Organizational re-organizations shift priorities slow productivity levels
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to process improvement ideas from employees
Pros
good pay and good training opportunity.
Cons
Fairness in how promotions are given and people are treated are really bad.
Advice to Senior Management
shall improve in the process to ensure Fairness in how promotions are given and people. and motivate employees and promote productivity.
