Pros
Great place to work , Exposure to latest technologies and trends.
Cons
Slow grownth and random change of direction by management
Advice to Senior Management
Communication from management
Pros
1) Get to know and work on the latest technology at the earliest.
2) Respect for employees
3) Awards given when exemplary work is done but the award-money is not the same for India and US , Previosly it was same now it is very ordinary for Indian-employees
Cons
1) US employees will not give work on latest technology until you are 2 yrs in EMC, Have to take it from them
2) Appraisals are not good.
3) Lot of interns and freshers coming in , all put in Command-Centre role , India-EMC is becoming like a sevice provider
Advice to Senior Management
Nothing as of now, but try to change the rewards and recognition and make it same all over the world.
Pros
Compensation
Benefits
People
Office space
That was five words and it's still showing an error
Cons
Bureaucratic
Gridlocked
Too much time spent on administrative issues
Pros
sense of urgency, lots of opportunities, supportive management, tuition benefit
Cons
Lots of people, crowded workplace
Pros
The benefits package is great and you'll meet lots of really neat people. Some of the people I met there, I'm still friends with. They have some amazing products and are very tech savvy when it comes to ways to sell them.
Cons
Middle management really keeps the smart people down. If any of them feel threatened by someone who can really make things happen, you will get passed up time and time again for a promotion. They seem to be very fearful of firing bad managers as well as people who have just been there so long that they are fixtures, regardless of their ability to lead.
Advice to Senior Management
They really need to start looking for people who are intelligent, bright, and want to change things. Right now, it's an old boys network that just seems to keep promoting each other while the company falters.
Pros
Benefits and compensation are on par with other IT product companies. But it still could be made better. Options like Working from home, leaves when necessary are not at all an issue in EMC. It takes care of employees benefits very well. It has a wide range of products and business units. Its a good place for a family man/woman who wishes to have a balanced life & work
Cons
employee's career growth is not taken care or there are not much opportunities offered for career growth. Not much feedback given to the employees. The companies culture should change a bit to involve more energetic top managers/personalities who inspire others to work.
Pros
Good people, good company, very strategic in acquisitions, poor integration of those companies though...on a good growth path
Cons
Sales rules, no collaboration among different BU's, poor recognition of good performance, very little money to work with.
Pros
EMC is a great company as far as flexibility and home-work-life balance goes.
Provides great benefits and location in the Tri-Valley.
Cons
Insulting salary in comparison to industry average, unprofessional management, favortism is widespread. Blind eyes are turned to unethical work behavior. Boys club mentality. HR is a joke who sit on their hands. Advancement opportunites are few and far between. Most promotions are on the East Coast.
Advice to Senior Management
EMC would be a great place to work if salaries were competitive and management held accountable for their actions. Long time quality employees are jumping ship over lack of faith in management.
Pros
challenge, product variety, time to market, pace,
Cons
amount of work and distribution, expectations of what can be done in a 60 hr week
Advice to Senior Management
