Former Employee – worked at EMC full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Great company! Strong Senior leadership.
Cons – Most cons pertain to work-life balance. This is something that each person must pay attention to because the business will not.
Advice to Senior Management – Get back to what made you successful: understanding the value of the employees and what they mean to your customers.

Pros – Fast-paced, hard driving culture with emphasis on innovation and excellence. Strong leadership and talented, loyal employees. Great products and tremendous customer base. Positioned for long term success in highly competitive market.

Former Employee – worked at EMC full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Fantastic products, tremendous market share, solid company. Innovative marketing programs, high focus on targeted campaigns, great progress last 3 years in simplified messaging and cross-organizational alignment, progressively integrated use of social media both internally & externally, smart & hard working colleagues, very team-oriented
Cons – Optimal to work in or frequently travel to Hopkinton headquarters for relationship building & approvals on major efforts -- outside of HQ, most collaboration done via concalls. Sometimes seems to move a bit slower than other tech companies (especially software firms).
Advice to Senior Management – Promotions and level increases not as frequent as I would have hoped or expected throughout the organization

Current Employee – been working at EMC full-time
Pros – EMC is a great place to work, for it is a top company in the IT area. Staying on top is key, so expect a fast paced work environment where individuals are looking to stay ahead of the evolving competition. There is a good benefits package and opportunities to move within the company.
Cons – A few of the downsides of working in such a fast paced environment, is the main concern are the bottom-line numbers. Work/Life balance seems to take a back seat far too often.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at EMC
Pros – Flexible work hours. Nice work environment, including on site gym. The company culture is good too, you can meet many nice colleagues here. And many of them stay with the company for 10+ years.
Cons – Not very competitive in salary. Getting hardware resources can be painful. I wish there is a on site day care center.
