    Pros

The upper level management has a great wealth of knowledge to pass onto any new interns. Hope you enjoyed organic chemistry!

    Cons

The main project itself may be headed towards a dead end. Not sue how much longer the company will keep investing..

    Advice to Management

Continue investing in research and development activities as well as investing in interns. Keep up the competitive compensation and you'll continue to receive top talent.

    Pros

Large company, professional biotech environment. Depending on who your supervisor is, your experience will differ. The environment in manufacturing is more stressful than other areas such as research or quality.

    Cons

Temporary workers were treated like we were invisible. It was clear that we were just there to do our niche roles while the full time employees handled anything requiring real thought. I felt that none of the contract employees were valued by management.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with respect, even if they are contract workers.

    Pros

Management would recognize the needs of the associates by ensuring everyone received proper training and understood the demands of their position. People were recognized for their cost savings ideas and providing a seamless transition when changing software, hardware, etc., as well as performance.

    Cons

Some of the challenges with EMD was everyone was extremely busy and sometimes departmental needs were not readily met.

    Advice to Management

Upper Management should consider the needs of Management and their sub-ordinates. Most Managers have a continuous dialogue with their subordinates, however, it is often difficult to meet with Upper Management to discuss the needs of their employees.

    Pros

Management appears to have a sincere interest in growing the business in North America.

    Advice to Management

Study corporative initiatives carefully before agreeing to them and make sure resources are available to execute. Fix the basics first.
