    Pros

Great work life balance; great benefits; great culture; performance discussions not performance reviews

    Cons

Not enough funds for career development; need more focused business development that delivers results not just talk

    Advice to Management

Get the company moving again so we are not fearful for our jobs!

    Pros

It is a true community of intelligent people who are working together to solve hard problems. They seem to care about their employees and remember when you did well and reward you with respect.

    Cons

It is family owned, so the stock isn't traded. Therefore it can't be given as a reward--the employees can't share in the natural growth of the company.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to offer a lower level of closely-held, non-traded stock.

    Pros

Very professional people at all levels Able to make a working prototype of almost any concept quickly

    Cons

Working business areas that cross divisions has always been difficult.

    Advice to Management

Insentivize managers for business growth not just overhead management

    Pros

Flexibility and autonomy. You are given tasks and parameters to work within. So long as you complete the tasks timely and efficiently. They let you do your thing.

    Cons

Changes happen too quickly. Most of that is due to customer requirements. Contracts are supposed to prevent that, but not at this company.

    Advice to Management

No advice. Go where the money is.

    Pros

Interesting projects, flexible culture. Decent benefits and flexible with schedules.

    Cons

Some times overworked. Feels like a lack of leadership from the top. Different divisions feel like completely separate companies.

    Cons

no growth strategy, layoffs, three more words

    Advice to Management

Streamline the organization. Merge some operating divisions to get rid of the little kings.

    Pros

Makes it possible for you to avoid politics, endless meetings, and other typical corporate bs that most tech employers can't stand. Good benefits, treat their employees well. Get paid for overtime.

    Cons

Base pay could be better. As a contract employee, when times get bad, you are the first to get laid off.

    Advice to Management

Try to find ways to increase the base payscale for your technical employees to better match what companies offer regular hires.

    Pros

Great Team. Everyone in my group always worked together to get it done. Extra hours were sometimes needed but when you needed extra time off, it was given.

    Cons

Some divisions had a hard time with communications when it came to knowing what other divisions were doing. That could be improved upon.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. ENSCO is a good company and I am sure will continue to be one of the top ranking companies to work for.

    Pros

Above average benefits. Office culture generally congenial and easy going. Most of the people are good to work with. Dress code is business casual to casual. Management is generally very concerned about employee satisfaction.

    Cons

Lacks technical capabilities and resources to be able to meet aggressive business acquisition goals. Springfield office is owned by company but generally run down.

    Advice to Management

Get a better understanding of the technical limitations of your employees and resources/facilities. Spend more IR&D funds to improve capabilities. Close down the Springfield office and move into a more price competitive modern facility.

    Pros

Very family oriented relaxed work environment Opportunities are there and if you are willing then you could really contribute to the overall mission of the division.

    Cons

Lack of collaboration among groups and divisions Technology is a bit dated, not as cutting edge as bigger competitors IMO A little too relaxed work environment

    Advice to Management

Emphasize training opportunities, not many employees are even aware that company offers Tuition Reimbursement. Encourage employees to join associations.
