the campus is amazing and everyone is really nice. there's free internship housing as well and a lot of intern trips.

    Cons

the training classes were a bit dry and a lot of the information wasn't important to interns.

    Pros

Excellent opportunities for growth! Team leads encourage you to pursue passions. Lots of on the job training.

    Cons

Many employees get stuck in the mindset that working long hours is key to success. This is a great first job, but something about the position doesn't sell itself as a longterm career.

I have been working at EPIC Systems full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Quality Assurance at Epic is extremely flexible. You really make the job what you want. you can sit in your office all day and test test test or become involved in more company initiatives and get involved in meetings more.

Culture at Epic is fantastic. You probably won't realize this until you leave.

Work hours are fine in QA. 40-50 is the average unless you drag your feet then it can easily jump up and you can feel you are working more and more.

    Cons

QA can be seen as bottom of the barrel at times and in large part this is related to the above pro. Certain QAers are satisfied to sit and test. If you apply yourself to reach out more and get involved and communicate with other roles your respect will increase. You have to look for the opportunities though and contribute.

I worked at EPIC Systems for more than a year

    Pros

    Great Pay/Benefits
    Incredibly Smart coworkers
    Food is fantastic
    Culture is great

    Cons

I feel like it's either sink or swim once you pick up the system, it's difficult to transition that knowledge to your client with so many variables.
Put In a lot of hours in order to truly understand the system(50 hours a week will not cut it starting out with your first customer)
Travel can be stressful, but handled pretty well by not having to set it up.

I have been working at EPIC Systems full-time

    Pros

The people you get to work with are amazing. I have a lot of fun with my co-workers and love the campus. Our culinary team is also very talented.

    Cons

Long hours are often required to complete all of the work. A lot of responsibility is given to new hires, which can be overwhelming early on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the training program better so we are proficient at our jobs sooner.

I have been working at EPIC Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Pay, Smart Colleagues, Exciting Industry, Amazing Head Quarters, Sweet Travel

    Cons

Too much work, you are not allowed to mess up or fail, literally impossible to get "promoted" (flat company structure: good and bad), Team Lead politics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be a restructuring.

I worked at EPIC Systems full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Always open for new ideas.
    - Open for new technologies and opportunities
    - If there is an opportunity there is no fear to spend time in research
    - Programs for supporting training
    - If you can not do something or it is out of your job scope you can simply say it without fear.

    Cons

    - Some times giving long time for research
    - Needs to have a business development specialist as the company is depending on life time products

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a business development Specialist and convert your products to SAAS model even there are competitors. Your products don't have to be all unique.
