I have been working at ESP as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

I applied one day and had work the next day. It was grunt work, but at least I wasn't home staring at my computer.

    Cons

The pay is terrible! We worked an event where other staffing agencies had temps working as well. They were paying their employees $10.00 while we were being paid $8.50 for doing the same thing. They said if we signed up for the next 3 events at the same establishment we would get a "bonus" that would equal $10.00 an hour. (one of those events is on Thanksgiving Day)

I like to work, but i don't like being taken advantage of. I signed up to work for one of the other agencies that paid their employees fairly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop ripping off your employees. $8.50 is not a fair wage for what you have us doing. It's embarrassing and frustrating to know that other temp agencies are paying their employees what they should be paid while we are being manipulated to sign up for assignments in order to make what they are making.

    I worked at ESP

    Pros

Other than the pension plan that IHS offers, there are none any longer. The owner retired; his partner quit; all of senior management left or were let go.

    Cons

ESP was acquired by IHS in March. It is now one piece of a large company. People are treated as if they don't exist. This big company has no clue what they are doing. They are also stingy in just about every respect--with money, with staffing, and with manners and professionalism.
