Pros
great atmosphere. great people. awesome space. tons of opportunity. Dinner when you stay late. Deli close by. Occasional Bud light.
Cons
Work Late. Work Harder than ever. Work Weekends. Tight Deadlines. Stressful Workload. Impatient Senior Production team. Not enough Bud Light.
Advice to Senior Management
Relax the schedules. Hire up. Give bonuses. Turn the space into more of a studio than warehouse. More Bud Light.
Pros
Stimulating and creative environment, powered by wall-less and dog friendly environment.
Cons
Unless you're in the creative circle, you are under-appreciated and under valued. Senior management pays little attention to the needs of departments aside from the creatives.
Advice to Senior Management
Get your head out of your ass, please.
Pros
A cubicle-less work environment that promotes creativity, and a remarkably dog friendly setting
Cons
Inappropriate management of personnel and abusive expectation of hours worked per week.
Advice to Senior Management
Create a more constructive work environment that respects the personal familial needs of their workers as much as management desires the worker remain fixed at the office.
Pros
The culture has a very personal feeling. People care about each other and active at promoting volunteerism. People are considerate and have a down to earth communication approach. The managers will typically do the right thing when it comes to making decisions regarding people. Very ethical company with people and financial. The company supported me through a very difficult personal time and I am forever grateful. I am still friends with several people.
Cons
Managers are not always willing to have the difficult performance conversations with it's employees. Some managers have not seen their role as managing people as their first priority. They often keep poor performers too long and when they finally make the decision to let go a person they may not have communicated well regarding expectations and consequences. Dixie has had a difficult time over the last few years finding it's place in a turbulant market and executing effectively.
Advice to Senior Management
Hmm, hire ahead for talent.
Pros
As a digital agency that used to receive a ton of press, it is merely a few month stepping stone to get you to the next gig/
Cons
Absolutely NO work-life balance. Absolutely no internal process so the producer has zero control and the crazy creative director yells and screams like a madman. The account people are just "yes men" to the client and they agree to timelines and estimates that are not impossible.
Oh, and they allow dogs and basically allow these pets to go to the bathroom anywhere they want too. The owners are not even accountable to clean up the mess!
Advice to Senior Management
Stick to what you know, ADD type viral marketing. Let the producers do their job to make your comapny PROFITABLE
