  6. Even though my pallets moved/hour was improving, it was not up their hypothetical formula.

I worked at EXCEL full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Safety conscious in theory, not in practice. Run at full-thottle to move required number of pallets. Compensation good, with a con. Benefits great, if you make it past probationary period. My damage ratio was practically zero, of which, I'm proud. I have seen forklift operators knock down a bay of 60 pallets, to be charged as damaged product. Of course, they're never seen again.

    Cons

12 hour straight shifts. 4 days on, 4 days off. Every other month, because of their week ending schedule, your hours were split over 2 pay periods. Losing 8 hours overtime. That works out to alot of wages. Very upsetting. 2 10 minute breaks in a 12 hour shift. Gooble down a sandwich, and climb back onboard. Because everyone is individually graded, team concept was non-existant. 20 forklifts moving at full thottle. Many close calls.I began to give right of way, which affected my output, leading to my demise. I saw 20 faces come and go in the time I was there. They are constantly advertising for employees.

    Advice to Management

Understand that all loads are not the same. Products can be scattered throughout the 500,000 sq./ft. warehouse, effecting your pallets/hour ratio. The team leader is aware of this. These assigned loads make it impossible to maintain your pallet/hour ratio, which explains the high turn over rate.

  7. No potential for advancement. Very low pay.

Pretty good working environment with good management and a team that is dedicate to help you advance with your career.

    Cons

At times they have long work schedules and it's hard to get used to the schedule but after a while it's easy to adjust.

    Pros

Maintenance job benefits holidays, vacation, 401k, medical and dental. Overall good place to work.

    Cons

It takes a long time to acquire the benefits and it is at a batch plant, so there is a lot of up and down time.

I worked at EXCEL part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I'm not quite sure why Glassdoor wants me to write a review for this company? I haven't worked here. My guess is it saw "Microsoft Excel" on my resume and assumed I was talking about this Excel.

    Cons

Again I haven't worked at Excel so I am not sure why glassdoor is asking me to work here. Maybe include that as an option when forcing me to leave a review in order to upload my resume.

I have been working at EXCEL full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great equipment, over 25 new trucks! Older drivers are very knowledgable and are always willing to share what they know.

    Cons

2 week rotational shifts. 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights. Gets VERY hard on the circadian clock. Always tired.

    Advice to Management

The Dispatchers are amazing people, but they are clearly overworked. There needs to be some kind of restructuring in the dispatch office.
