I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Culture, Steep Learning Curve, Exposure to C-Suite Executives, Ability to manage at an early stage in career, company is willing to invest in your future.

    Cons

Public Accounting hours can be rough at times, with in the financial services office specifically your "busy season" is not only January-March/April, can hit at anytime during the year. Compensation is not great at the lower levels.

    Advice to Management

If you would like to retain more of your highest performing individuals there has to be more incentive (compensation) to stay, the open market values an average employee at EY at a higher rate.

I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunities for the politically attuned and connected. Great senior leaders--the ones I've met and/or worked with on engagements are all outstanding in their technical and interpersonal skills.

    Cons

Work is won at all costs, even without proper scoping or staffing. No one is allowed to complain about this because you are reviewed by the Senior Managers who sold the work and there is a conflict of interest.

    Advice to Management

Get the hours under control and be a bit more candid about the goals of winning in the market being at all costs. Truth is better than running the company under the illusion that all hours are being recorded.

I have been working at EY full-time

    Pros

Great perks--generous meal allowances, happy hours, reimbursements Great people--intelligent, fun people to work with Good retirement/health benefits

    Cons

Long Hours, Long commute (always a different client in the burbus) Hard to distinguish yourself--year end ratings are very arbitrary/Political Work can be stressful, tedious, monotonous--all at the same time. Managers have unrealistic expectations Salary is on the lower end for the hours you put in

I have been working at EY as an intern

    Pros

-Able to do overtime -Paid travel -Exposure to clients -Challenging

    Cons

The job is very exhausting, specially with the travel. I was normally able to complete my forty hours in four days and had an additional 12 hours of travel, so the work-life balance was not the best. I would still come in to the office on Fridays to get some exposure to the local office.

    Advice to Management

Better the communication between the engagement team and recruiting expectations. They seem to be very unprepared to receive us when I first arrived.

    Pros

Great networking, training, and opportunities to learn and grow. Promotion structure is defined and expectations are clearly outlined.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

There is nothing positive about working as an EA at this company.

    Cons

Everything! The company has zero respect for their EAs. They are treated like dirt. They are talked down to. They are constantly called into meetings that are a complete waste of time. You have no control over your food orders for your meetings. This company does nothing for their EAs. No perks.

    Advice to Management

Learn to treat your support staff better! It is a disgrace the way you treat your support staff.
