I have been working at EY full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great corporate culture, people are very open minded, collegial, and generally fun to work with. I have learned a lot for the people I have worked with. It is not an experience you get everywhere. Also, there is great work life balance for this industry.

    Cons

The experience management process is not managed well, you definitely have to find your own projects. The end of year review process is very subjective. Make friends in the right places

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put more structure around the experience management process. Resources can often go underutilized because of this mismanaged process. Additionally, you may want to consider raising the employer match on the 401k, it is far from competitive.

    Cons

Traveling takes up few hours of the week.
Not easy to select location of client as per what you wish.

I worked at EY full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

EY provides a great learning experience if you stay beyond your first two years and work on public companies. My teams were like family to me - we had each others back.

    Cons

Work-life balance and flexibility are huge talking points of this Company but close to impossible to execute upon. It is expected you are accessible 7 days a week unless rare circumstances. Compensation below partner level is just ok when you consider the long hours and working evenings/weekends (ie. many sacrifices).

    Pros

Strong, well-known brand with lots of infrastructure to access resources for client needs, personal development and training. Many offices internationally.

    Cons

Significant "turf" battles regarding clients, geographies, solutions, etc. which create devisive relationships and employee dissatisfaction. there is no "partnership" here

I have been working at EY full-time

    Pros

Physically nice work locations and many ways activities outside of work. Shared-services group is huge, including marketers, designers and proofreaders.

    Cons

Work-environment is a political battlefield plagued with hidden agenda. Review process fails to recognize individual performance unless recognized by an executive advocate. People often fell through cracks during promotion process and received little explanation why promotions were missed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Inexperience is abundant in ranks of Manager thru Senior Manager. Promotion occurs much too early, especially from staff to Senior.
