I worked at EY as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Most people were very nice and willing to help you. They are very community service geared. The work culture wasn't so pressurized as I've seen in other firms. You are also encouraged to follow your interests, and are able to voice your interest in another service line and most likely will be able to switch.

    Cons

At a big firm such as this one, sometimes work goes unnoticed.

I have been working at EY full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-mgmt consulting business is growing rapidly, feels very entrepreneurial right now
-promotions have been abundant and not limited by caps
-great people culture, most consultants I have met are down to earth and genuine
-a lot of opportunity for senior/staff consultants to gain exposure to business development
-senior consultants are encouraged to contribute to firm in addition to completing project work
-infrastructure support from the larger firm

    Cons

-mgmt consulting (PI) culture integration with rest of firm is not that great, I don't know anyone in my office except for people in my functional area
-project pipeline is not very steady - seasonal peaks and valleys
-performance bonus are not competitive vs other consulting firms

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management need to continue to reinforce the positive culture at EY-Advisory. The firm has been hiring a lot of new consultants so the culture could easily dilute.

Consultants have limited exposure to other associates due to the heavy travel requirements. Going into the office on Friday is pointless if there is no one from your group that is present. I recommend the firm to take a close look on how to engage consultants when they are off projects.
