Former Employee - Staff Accountant in Auckland (New Zealand)

I worked at EY full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

General recruitment strategy seems to be on point with strong team dynamics
    Great for resume/future job search

    Cons

Lack of recognition for hard work
    Long hours

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember the smaller things like a congratulations or appreciation for long hours can go a long way to improving staff morale instead of bringing in 50,000 new HR concepts and diagrams

Current Employee - Audit Senior in Atlanta, GA

I have been working at EY full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

In this firm, you will be challenged on a daily basis, forced in a good way to learn organization and leadership skills, and truly understand the meaning of team. You will have good days and bad, but you look back and will recognize how far you have come and how much you have learned. It does set you up to go into industry with good amount of knowledge and skills.

    Cons

The career is true to the stereotype, you work a lot, and there is no such thing as work/life balance. Your hard work will be recognized, but you have to make it known to executives around you when you have had accomplishments or have gone above and beyond. Depending on your region, raises vary being good or very poor.

I have been working at EY as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

During my internship, I get to do field work, directly communicate with client personnel, investigate client's account for internal controls. I've gained experience of teamwork, quantitative skills etc

    Cons

Work-life balance is hard to do since I'm almost away most of the time. Therefore, I don't get to utilize my social life, instead putting all of my time in working.
