    Pros

In the TAS practice, you are continually exposed to new businesses, clients, and sectors. This translates into tremendous learning and growth opportunity in short periods of time. Generally, teams are smart, efficient and supportive. Senior partners are transparent and accessible. Solid opportunity for advancement and growth for strong performers. Career opportunities post-TAS are strong.

    Cons

Personal experiences largely dependent on how projects are staffed and the partners you work for. A lack of technical training for new/experienced hires, however project nature results in ability to quickly get up to speed. Most importantly, a career in TAS lacks any semblance of balance. M&A is inherently demanding, and so are clients. Be prepared to cancel dinner plans, work unexpected late nights, or work a month straight on a difficult project.

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide growth and advancement opportunity to strong performers. Focus on further differentiating compensation (particularly bonus structure) given the demanding nature of TAS work and lifestyle. Scrap the pension in favor of stronger 401k match.

    Pros

This company is great for people who are aggressive about building professional networks and getting exposed to some of the biggest players in any given field.

    Cons

The corporate culture can push you really hard on hours worked. Many projects can have you on the road Monday through Thursday almost every week.

I have been working at EY full-time

    Pros

The people. They're driven, personable, sharp. You're always learning new things, and being provided with incredible opportunities to learn more and take on responsibilities a new hire from college would only dream about elsewhere.

    Cons

The hours tend to be longer than 40 hours a week, depending on the project deadlines and client requests. But, the quality of people you're working with and the rewarding work that you get to do makes up for it.

    Advice to Management

Continue to bring in the high quality people and managers that have made the company so competitive in the market and enjoyable to work for.

I have been working at EY full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Leadership is encouraged to show personal attention to and concern for employees, and mentorship happens on every level. Pretty good job security and pay increases

    Cons

The firm is becoming more like accenture in every way. Projects are becoming more implementation-focused and boring, pay increases are decreasing, promotion is getting more difficult. Other perks like Off Sites are being cut.

    Advice to Management

Stop chasing growth for growth sake. Our culture is becoming diluted and are projects are becoming dull.

    Pros

Outstanding opportunities for experience and development; great benefits package, forward-thinking with workplaces of the future and many inclusiveness initiatives, flexibility

    Cons

It is a large firm, so you must take ownership of your own career. You will be asked to work hard and long hours, but the experience gained is invaluable

    Advice to Management

Continue having people at the forefront of your strategy and investing in them and their development since they are the firm's single most valuable resource.
