I worked at EY full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The ability to travel or even relocate with the company are endless, if that is what you are interested in. With the support of a senior manager or partner and a strong work ethic, all you have to do is express your interest and they can make it happen.

    Cons

The workload is heavy and the hours can be extremely long. The job is demanding often requiring nights at the office...recalling a few weeks of staying until they turned the lights out at 2am was not glamorous.

    Pros

Has access to significant resources and a great reputation in the industry.

    Cons

High turnover since there is a very small bonus structure and accounting culture dominates. Accountants run non-accounting practices which creates a culture issue.

I worked at EY full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Highly motivated co-workers, flexible work schedule, many opportunities to choose your client/career path, competitive compensation package, opportunities for training in multiple service lines

    Cons

Travel (if you do not like it), many hours (55-70 per week, which is normal for a Big 4 firm), It is very difficult to transfer service lines if you excel in one vs. another, stressful work environment at times
