I worked at EY full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The networking and training opportunities. The possibility to engage in different assignments for several different companies allow you to increase your personal network, get noticed in the market and to increase knowledge of the industry you are enrolled. It also allow you to get in touch with C-Level executives throught the market.

Personal development. Due to the nature of the work performed, you are pushed to understand how to interact with different type of individuals. You are also challenged to think out of the box and to understand political scenarios within the firm and with the client.

    Cons

Lack of empowerment. Most of the strategic decisions are made by upper management (Partners). As you advance your carreer in the company, you are given more responsibilities on the hiring processes, pricing, sales but in the end, all the decisions are centralized by the partners above your service line.

Pressure on allocation. Sometimes the pressure on personal allocation and chargeability affects your capability to deliver a better job and to get work-life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Delegate more and empower your employees. Carreer is not only a matter of title and salary, but also to feel that you belong to that company.
