I have been working at EY full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Love the international collaboration with our affiliate offices around the world. produce world shaping support to global organizations. The pay is awesome

    Cons

People like all other places, some of them can be challenging to work with. Especially in this Type A environment where everyone is trying to make Partner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are great initiatives for diversity and inclusiveness but much much more needs to be done to stamp out the silos and favoritism that goes on. This is a challenge for any organization so I understand it's something that can't be completely fixed but it is something that still needs attention to from the leadership

I have been working at EY full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Genuinely looks to incorporate inclusiveness into all working practices, people look out for team members and actively provide opportunities for growth and development, a lot of internal progression and chances to change role / location

    Cons

Relatively rigid formal progression structure, depending on role can require frequent travel and significant virtual teaming, experience can depend on specific project / clients / teams - meaning it's left to you to strategically move projects to get the best experience

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Formal policy and performance metrics don't align with communications / promoted initiatives, e.g use of full utilization which encourages staff not to take PTO and thus a stressed and tired workforce

I worked at EY as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Most people were very nice and willing to help you. They are very community service geared. The work culture wasn't so pressurized as I've seen in other firms. You are also encouraged to follow your interests, and are able to voice your interest in another service line and most likely will be able to switch.

    Cons

At a big firm such as this one, sometimes work goes unnoticed.

I have been working at EY full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

What I like most about EY are the work flexibility program for employees, the dedicated commitment to help in local communities around the world, the amount of available learning courses, & the employee's mentorship/counseling program.

    Cons

One challenge I had was working with season employees not being open to change & not embracing new hires. During the first 3-4 months, I found myself trying to constantly prove myself & skills to individuals which I wasn't reporting to, but worked on same projects; always questioning every aspect of my skill even before the project started. Fortunately, I have a good mgmt team that had confidence in my proven skill sets and supported me while assigned to the project.

I have been working at EY as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

EY sets up a lot of different intern events and experiences so that interns are able to really enjoy their internship. In addition to the intern events you also do the work that is staff 1 level so you get a real idea of what the day to day job would be like.

    Cons

They through you in head first and sort of just expect you to swim.

Current Employee - Senior Executive Assistant in New York, NY

I have been working at EY full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, training, ability to work on various projects based on interests. Reimbursement for college classes as appropriate to your role. Work life balance (more for some than others)

    Cons

lowered salary cap, micromanagement of some admin managers, frustration of not being to advance in current role. Hiring cheap trick employees who want the salary but not the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't micromanage, champion the people you manage and not suck up to Partners instead.
