Satisfying - for the most part.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBetter than average equipment, average pay, above average benefits. Average interest in drivers and office staff. Squeaky wheel will get the grease.

ConsA paid by the load company, most runs pay below the competition as far as miles per rate goes. Getting any adjustments to that rate is slow going.

    Over worked and underpaid!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsNewer equipment being introduced into the fleet.

ConsLong hours and very low pay for loads!!!

Advice to Senior ManagementAt least act like you appreciate your drivers!

Pay rate well off the pace
    Upper Management out of touch
Middle Management spreading rumors about money and raises to keep employees
Destroying your home life do to lack of quality people to do the job

Advice to Senior ManagementStop telling people you our replaceable and then you cant find quality people to replace the people you let leave over money expecting the ones left behind to pick up your slack leaving them with less home time
    Stop lying about money
Management should Stop saying a truck drivers are a dime a dozen (Guess if you're in Selma they ran out of dimes to hire quality drivers)

Not a good company to work for.

    Dispatcher (Former Employee)

    ProsMade some life long friends.

ConsThis company is absolutely terrible to work for. The pay is measly considering the hours required to work and management does not consider the well being of their employees. If you are considering working for this company, run far and fast.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat women with respect and use employees for feedback on what's going on at the terminal level.

    terrible place to work

    Who Cares (Former Employee)

Prosyour paycheck always cashes other then that a very stress place

Consupper management has no clue as to what goes on at the terminal level nor do they care. They succeed off the sweat of others with the only care is to get product in ground. safety, drivers well being, family life, mismanagement, ran like third world county does not matter.

Advice to Senior Managementtry listening to your employee's not just your good old boys club. you might find out some interesting facts on how your terminals are ran and how you are lied to on a daily basis.

    Not organized

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsSmall company means you know most of the management. The company seems to be successful as a whole.

ConsHigh turn over. Office personnel are not treated equal to the drivers they manage. Pay is poor compared to the drivers and other companies. The hardest workers seem to make the least in the office, as it should NOT be. The hardest working drivers make the most driving, as it should be.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat office employees with much more respect. Do not allow drivers to be so disrespectful. You will only keep good personnel if you treat and pay them accordingly. It will cost you less money treating and paying a good employee well, vs. consistantly retraining. Come up with a better universal training system.

    A great place to work.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThey have decent pay and benefits. Lot's of owners family and friends working at the top. There seems to be a good 'o boys network going. If you play the game, you can move up the ladder. Overall, a good place to work.

ConsIf you aren't part of the "good 'o boy network, you can easily be on the outside looking in.

Eagle Transport's management is out of touch.

Operations Manager (Former Employee) Rocky Mount, NC

ProsEagle is a good "starter" job but few people stay long term. The atmosphere is relaxed and the paychecks never bounce.

ConsManagement style is "top-down", meaning opinions from rank & file employees are neither solicited nor appreciated. Any idea that doesn't come from corporate is ignored. Upper management fails to create a vision, doesn't communicate, and offers no leadership. Culture is of the "good ol' boys club" variety, meaning that if certain key members of management like you, promotions come easy, but the large majority of employees toil away unappreciated and never receive raises or promotions. Overall morale is low and there is little trust among co-workers.

Advice to Senior ManagementEagle Transport's managers need to accept that their leadership style and policies are creating most of the problems at the company. Eagle has many hard working and dedicated employees who are often blamed for situations that are in fact the fault of the corporate office and particularly the regional directors. Employees are told that they weren't "hired to think" and instead just need to do as told by the regional directors. Complaints are ignored and submitting constructive criticism can be a career killer. Rank & file employees need to be listened to, allowed the freedom to actually do their jobs without being micromanaged, and given opportunities for professional development.
