Working at this company, I experienced a consistency in workload along with a very approachable and helpful staff.

I worked at East Carolina University part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

When working on smaller tasks, more enduring tasks, your supervisor doesn't mind if you watch movies while you complete them in order to take some of the monotony away.

    Cons

The biggest challenge was only being allowed to work 20 hours over two weeks. On many occasions, the added income would have been beneficial.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I suggest allowing students to work more hours if their schedule permits it. Or even hiring them for more than a student position.

I have been working at East Carolina University

    Pros

ECU is a good place to work. The university is indeed friendly and they give opportunities to students including international students. The structure is organized and is highly recommended

    Cons

Nothing much to say. Every organization has its issues just as individuals do. The university is okay and w=is well recommended for graduate and undergraduate programs for those considering options in these.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up with the good work.

I worked at East Carolina University full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Very nice location - good weather, close to beaches, lots of recreational opportunities
Institution of higher education - good opportunities for continuing education, beautiful campus

    Cons

People were generally very nice and pleasant, but there were a lot of cliques and internal groups present. Established employers outside of your own specific department weren't as welcoming or inviting as hoped. It was very tough being a person completely new to the area and not knowing anyone. You would think they would be more accommodating for a new person.

I have been working at East Carolina University part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Every semester gets something new out of me. Great to hold a job while still studying . Professors are understanding and very supportive ( for the professors I worked with)

    Cons

Sometimes handling both job and school work becomes challenging that it exceeds my hours and I don't get paid for it..

  7.

I worked at East Carolina University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Like most state jobs, the benefits are excellent. Generally, the people are friendly and work hard. It isn't hard to do well if you work hard.

    Cons

The University tolerates mediocrity. It is hard to try new things and introduce new technologies. Most of the work is not challenging. They don't generally care about family responsibilities either.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation is good, but there is a general mistrust of people from outside of Greenville. There should be more in the area to draw people from different places with different ideals in.

    Pros

    Get to work with friends

    Cons

    Long hours of standing
    Constant Customer complaints about prices
Not much training (though most of the work is common sense)
    Constantly moving
    Weather

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to pay attention to sanitation; saw quite a few things that scared me.

    Pros

Good pay, flexible hours, no take home work, opportunities to work with both students and higher level personnel. Interview process was short and to the point.

    Cons

Little interaction between co workers outside of work, very cliquey, not the most exciting job in the world. Pay could be increased, but still competitive.
