I worked at East Tennessee Children's Hospital

    Pros

The only good thing about the hospital is the patients.

    Cons

The pt units are usually so understaffed nurses and support staff have an obscene pt load that can be a safety issue. the nurse managers shouldn't be in management let alone nursing. And as far as pay goes the more u do the less u get paid and without any appreciation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk in every positions shoes for a shift. Fight for better raises. Fight for your employees. Don't just blow them off or ignore their needs.

I have been working at East Tennessee Children's Hospital

    Pros

convenient and what Im trained to do. I like my field of work.

    Cons

Too many managers. Too much statistic gathering and not enough problem solving.
Changes are frequently made without employee input that results in poor results and confusion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some education on how to manage. Quit hiring your relatives in your units.

I worked at East Tennessee Children's Hospital

    Pros

Easy to feel connected to ETCH's mission. Great people there that are committed to their work. You get to be part of the healthcare of children!

    Cons

Not a fan of the location. Even though the people I worked with were intelligent, dedicated, and committed; there was still a lack of morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wouldn't pretend to understand what the leadership of an organization of this scope should do to improve their business.
