Current Employee – been working at East West Bancorp full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Clear Communication. Clear goal setting.
Cons – Not many career opportunities for promotions.
Advice to Senior Management – Appraisal and bonus system is always a surprise to staff. Should clear disclose to staff in the beginning of the year. Company earned lots of profit. However, did not share same ratio profit to employee.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Former Employee – worked at East West Bancorp full-time for less than a year
Pros – Work is steady, at times hectic. Good 'team' environment. On-boarding & training done by very qualified individuals. Very hands-ons environment with variety of tasks.
Cons – Compensation is low, especially if hired temporary. Too many internal applications to manage, lack of cohesiveness. Lateral transfer sometimes does not mean equal pay rate. High turn over.
Advice to Senior Management – Shore up technology infrastructure. Get updated systems (software mainly). Test & retest before rolling out in production.

Former Employee – worked at East West Bancorp full-time for more than a year
Pros – Lots of autonomy and hands on experience.
Cons – Lack of direction and continuity in senior management. Very "labor" intensive, with a competitive, non-productive silo approach that leads to redundancy.
Advice to Senior Management – Formulate a plan to build the business and not just to turn a quick profit.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at East West Bancorp
Pros – East West Bank is currently the largest Chinese bank to work for in the United States.
Cons – I would have to say that things will need to be more unified. Each banking division needs to share the same vision.
One thing that I dislike about the company is too family orientated. At the same time, there is no career advancement within the company.
Advice to Senior Management – The senior management team should consider promoting within instead of hiring candidates from outside. Senior management team should take action to retain the employees since our turnover rate is so high.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at East West Bancorp
Pros – the bank is expanding now. They are hiring a lot people, such as teller, internal auditor, credit analyst, accountant, etc.
Cons – The paying is not very well. the entry level teller only pay $10 per hour. The bank location too far away from my house

Current Employee – been working at East West Bancorp
Pros – The job is not too difficult. Work load is not over whelming and can be accomplished easily as long as you have a drive to suceed
Cons – Advancement opportunities are very limited in the Atlanta area. In Pasadena they might have more of a chance of growth but in Atlanta you work where you were hired.
Advice to Senior Management – I think Management is more concerned about making a profit rather then retaining quality employees. Management seems more focused on short term growth rather than focusing on the larger picture.

Former Employee – worked at East West Bancorp
Pros – There're some very nice and easy going people
Cons – UPPER management is very cheap in terms of giving rewards to hard working employees. They cannot retain good/talented employees
Advice to Senior Management – The upper management does not realize that the bank has doubled its size but all they do is keep pushing people work harder but they do not return reasonable rewards. They actually hired many talent people from bigger and more prestigious firms, but they just cannot retain talent people with their managing styles. Many people in my department left within 1 year of employments. They really need to think of ways to retain people instead of only knowing how to push people. People do have options to work somewhere else.
