Pros
Strong team culture. Reasonable place to work.
Cons
Unstable management. Behind in technology.
Pros
great benefits at east west bank
Cons
long working hours if you work for east west bank
Advice to Senior Management
none at this time for east west bank management
Pros
If you happen to come across good people to work with, it can be fun. Benefits are okay.
Cons
Only looks out for "shareholders value" ie the corporation itself and gives very small percentages for raises (2-6% in December 2011 i think) even though the company is increasing its profits exponentially. There is no opportunity for growth if your manager does not choose to help you. You're at the mercy of your manager which is unfair because sometimes he/she can be a biased prick who really doesn't see enough to know anything and only looks out for him/herself, at the cost of stepping all over everybody else. There is no accountability for the manager's actions. All credit goes to him for anything good that those below him does. And the manager has certain privileges to please clients in ways that we cannot, which only makes everyone else look like worthless liars.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire people with character.
Pros
cross-cultural experence and the bridge concept of east and west. large community bank yet has personal touch. Advancement oppotunities provided.
Cons
not much media attention. the pay can be better, wish have more interaction with senior management. IT infrastructure is not up to date yet.
Advice to Senior Management
want to try having informal luncheon with the front-line workers? should complete the cross-border branch into full-services asap in order to seize china business oppotunity.
Pros
the bank is expanding now. They are hiring a lot people, such as teller, internal auditor, credit analyst, accountant, etc.
Cons
The paying is not very well. the entry level teller only pay $10 per hour. The bank location too far away from my house
Pros
The job is not too difficult. Work load is not over whelming and can be accomplished easily as long as you have a drive to suceed
Cons
Advancement opportunities are very limited in the Atlanta area. In Pasadena they might have more of a chance of growth but in Atlanta you work where you were hired.
Advice to Senior Management
I think Management is more concerned about making a profit rather then retaining quality employees. Management seems more focused on short term growth rather than focusing on the larger picture.
Pros
great people to work with
Cons
no enought chances to advance
Advice to Senior Management
please provide more opportunities to the employees, appreciate what they have done for the company, improve the benefit package, retain smart people
Pros
There're some very nice and easy going people
Cons
UPPER management is very cheap in terms of giving rewards to hard working employees. They cannot retain good/talented employees
Advice to Senior Management
The upper management does not realize that the bank has doubled its size but all they do is keep pushing people work harder but they do not return reasonable rewards. They actually hired many talent people from bigger and more prestigious firms, but they just cannot retain talent people with their managing styles. Many people in my department left within 1 year of employments. They really need to think of ways to retain people instead of only knowing how to push people. People do have options to work somewhere else.
Pros
Great People, smaller bank, not too many hoops to jump through. you are lucky enough to Rub elbows with the big guys
Cons
There aren't really any downsides. I think like all companies the more paid time you have would be great. So more paid time off would be nice. Only 2 weeks a year.
Pros
Good Pay and people who do work hard.
Cons
Departments are disjointed. Bank trying to be something they are not. Trying to Grow too fast, and make fast moves. Do not communicate changes well.
Advice to Senior Management
know the bank's culture, and work within it. Do not treat people as a doormat.
