contracted to provide disability services for the state

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Salem, OR

    ProsHad acceptable benefits and salary.

ConsBecause I worked for a sub-contracted agency, I don't know who to blame for the emphasis change from helping people (I taught Spanish speakers English, so they could find work), to simply caring about the numbers.

Advice to Senior ManagementMy management at the state level was very good (a Latino program director), but the local office was not, and I would not vouch for upper management being concerned for anything except having good salaries.

Made promises upon hire that were not kept, lack of ongoing useful training.

    Behavioral Interventionist (Current Employee)
    Burlingame, CA

ProsFriendly co-workers when we are actually in the office, good learning opportunities, most definitely a useful stepping stone. Bonding with the children has definitely been the reason why I stayed so long.

ConsContinuous lack of communication between management and other staff, continuous cutting of reimbursements to staff. Other's mistakes seemed to be tossed on to the interventionists laps. Last minute schedule changes on an ongoing basis and promises being unsatisfied on an ongoing basis since I began. The company also seems to be in financial trouble as well.

Advice to Senior ManagementHey management, try backing up ALL of your staff every now and then,

Easter Seals taught me that while skills are important, empathy for clients was just as important.

    Customer Service Representative (Former Employee)
    San Jose, CA

ProsTaught me the importance of being compassionate to those with disabilities.

ConsThis company is meant to be a stepping stone to a career.

I absolutely love the work i do

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Prosthe residents are by far the driving force that keeps me there

Conspay, hours, ALWAYS hiring too many people so it fluctuates between too many staff and not enough staff, never consistent

Advice to Senior Managementmanagement is not subjective at all

I found out quickly what aba should NOT look like

    Behavior Interventionist (Former Employee)
    San Diego, CA

ProsWorking with the kids and families is what kept me here as long as I was.

ConsManagement, professionalism and a serious lack of integrity. Not only are employees treated terribly, but this agency is doing a disservice to many families. Supervisors do not have the time for cases and go months without making changes to a child's program.

    Advice to Senior Managementgood luck

Worst management in my professional history.

    Program Coordinator (Current Employee)
    West Orange, NJ

ProsBeing a part of Helping the consumers have a productive life.

ConsThere is little to no on the job training creating an environment set up for failure.
Management will bully or threaten your job to dothings their way.
Management micromanages their staff leaving no ability to grow creatively as a leader. HR is non responsive unless pressured.
Although they hire internally they hire based on favoritism.

Advice to Senior ManagementLoosen up the directives and show staff to develop into leaders. I suggest not tolerating bullying behaviors by managers.

I would not send my dog to work there !

    Teacher (Former Employee)
    Silver Spring, MD

ProsI am only there for benefits . The daycare sucks !

ConsPoor communication . They hire anybody in the daycare . You don't feel comfortable . The kids in this one particular classroom are the worst kids I have ever seen . The classroom next door to the awful class is horrible too .

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate . Be a little more friendly . Smile . Be understanding . Be polite . T

    Very low quality teachers

    Lead Teacher (Current Employee)

ProsThe benefits are nice, and some of the families

ConsThe staff are rude, disrespectful, and never mind their own business. We are under paid, and the directors really don't seem to care. We ask for help with difficult children, and really get no support.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet to know your staff, and build a relationship. Create a fun loving environment, and come ready to play in the classroom. Respect your staff so they will respect you

Easter Seals RI - early intervention

    Anonymous (Former Employee)
    Narragansett, RI

ProsThe cause, in theory. Some dedicated staff but they quickly moved on. That's about it. Very negative and unprofessional leadership.

ConsUnfortunately the early intervention program was run like a first time job by the middle aged women there. Unprofessional manager, billing person and extreme level of gossip and backstabbing. Horrible experience.

Advice to Senior ManagementGiven at resignation. Get a clue.
