Ok job, above minimum wage and your making a difference. I had good bosses who were understanding.

    Cons

Fellow employees make a easy job hard.

    Advice to Management

Hire people without too much baggage, psych checks maybe needed.

    Pros

You are able to make your own schedule and operate independently. Very flexible hours. You can do your billing at home. Short therapy reports.

    Cons

If clients cancel you do not get paid and you do not get paid for your therapy reports which can take over an hour to write.

    Advice to Management

I would highly recommend paying the therapist for all hours worked instead of only direct treatment time. This is a great way to let your staff know that they are valued and keeps them from leaving for other jobs.

    Pros

The environment was supportive environment, the staff is friendly and the work is rewarding. There is room for growth and colleagues form a family-like feel.

    Cons

A lot of turn over with behavioral interventionists. The work can be stressful and you need to balance your life so you don't burn out.

    Advice to Management

Be more aware and supportive of stress overload and burn out.

    Pros

Given a lot of autonomy and responsibility. A great place to learn the industry and grow skils in non-profit management and direct care.

    Cons

Because the admin rate is so low, they do not invest in personnel. The turnover rate is outrageous, and a lot of time is spent training new hires who are almost always entry level.

    Advice to Management

Bite the bullet and increase the admin rate. Invest in your employees. Give them room to grow. Be more discerning with your new hires.

    Pros

Starting salary, ongoing training, love my schedule, full time benefits plus edu assistance.

    Cons

Some tough cases : biting, scratching, hitting, spitting, and lots of driving

    Advice to Management

Chain of command is incredibly lengthy. Personal manager, plus training team, plus case managers, and clinical teams...Exactly who is in charge here? TOO many leaders.

I have been working at Easter Seals part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They work with you, to find you clients for the respite service, and get you as many as you can handle. Lower level management very on top of things and responsive to front line workers

    Cons

Not for Profit organization, there just is not that much funds for paying people. Do not work there if you are just in it for the money.

    Advice to Management

Your front line Supervisors are over worked. You need to be careful that they do not burn out on you. They are good people.

    Pros

You make your own schedule and get to work with awesome families.

    Cons

The productivity expectation leaves you with a horrible balance of work and life.

    Advice to Management

Provide boundaries of time for those over achieving workers that don't know how to let go. They will burn out.

    Pros

Great culture, people, mission, and management. Good quality work is done.

    Cons

Organization lacks a central focus. Though everyone is working for the great cause, it seems as though not everyone in the organization is on the same page and has their own agendas.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop and communicate a central focus throughout the organization.
