Pros
Ability to move around and experience new opportunities.
Cons
Communication needs to be improved overall.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
The people that are left are the best and the work is challenging. Low level management tries their best to be fair and navigate through the day to day and the future. The compensation and benefits are still very good.
Cons
The whole environment at Kodak is quite dismal with a limited view of the future (EK could be bankrupt or be booming in the future - it is impossible to tell). Chance for advancement from the lower ranks is limited because of layoffs and what lies ahead in the future.
Pros
The people that are left are the best and the work is challenging. Low level management tries their best to be fair and navigate through the day to day and the future. The compensation and benefits are still very good.
Cons
The outlook for the future is very scary at EK. The employee moral is at rock bottom because of the state of the company and fact that layoffs are a regular part of life. It is sad to see the company crumble before our very eyes....
Pros
Highly skilled workers, among those who remain.
Cons
Kodak is not a profitable company.
Pros
The people are extremely friendly and courteous. Everything you do makes a difference in the product no matter what team you're on.
Cons
The company doesn't seem to be going in an up hill fashion, and so working here might not be a career fit.
Advice to Senior Management
Everyone was very friendly and the ability to talk with the management positions was a great pro. Definitely a friendly environment.
Pros
Great benefits, multi-tiered organizational challenges, breadth of challenges with opportunities to advance if you can deliver. Fair management and good accountability up and down in the organization.
Cons
Employee morale in many divisions suffers as revenue of legacy businesses like film die off, and many long standing employees lose their jobs. The "digital transformation" of the company has gone well in a few areas but not so much in others. And in a hyper competitive market like inkjet printers or scanners you need lots of marketing money to build strength in the brand, which Kodak doesn't seem to have right now - so there is great risk. Upside for the company is the amount of IP which will be attractive to a buyer, but that means a lot of lost jobs when that happens...take a look at the stock price.
Pros
Good people,good salary, team atmosphere
Cons
Lack of career & professional growth, no company growth, poor morale
Advice to Senior Management
Start promoting from within & other companies besides HP; shutdown all unprofitable businesses; keep for 4 growth businesses
Pros
nice team worker, nice supervisor and fixed salary increase percent.
Have chance to learn how the big company run it.
Cons
lower salary compare with others, the future of company is negative. have many redundant employees. no promotion room in the future.
Pros
I was given lots of Freedom to run my territory and schedules.
Cons
Poor management infrastructure, average employee tenure is less than 5 years. The attitude in Rochester is that they are still a player. Most of the employees I have worked with, have left or are looking to jump the ship, or are being laid off.
Advice to Senior Management
It may be too late to get rid of the Captain driving the Ship, it looks like the iceberg has already been hit. Interview your customers and channel partners and they will tell you what is wrong with the company. The field managers in place for these positions have no clue who Kodak's customers are or how to fix the eroding base.
Pros
My area is great for balancing work/life issues. Very flexible. Allow people to do the job they were hired for without micromanagement.
Cons
Many blinders on when it comes to capability vs. sheet of paper showing you have a degree. Hold people back from certain titles, yet give them the work to do anyway.
Advice to Senior Management
I would take a hard look at those working in your area to get a full understanding of their capabilities. I think you would be surprised at the people who get the recognition vs. those that are actually accomplishing the work and making a difference.
