Company has good name recognition

Due to continual downsizing the workload is large and hours long.

Pros
If it is a remote manufacturing facility, it is good. If you're proximate to the corporate office, it can get pretty weird.

They seem to be in perpetual downsize mode. This makes people uneasy in their work.

Some of the goats should hang it up, like the head of purchasing. You can't farm proprietary technology out if you want to keep your business. It doesn't develop people, at least in this country (USA).

quit! kodak desperately needs new management to bring back the old Kodak way and values, along with some profit

Look for your good people and promote them to more effective roles. This includes salary increases as you can't expect 80 hour weeks w/no opportunity for growth in salary.

Intriguing technology; personable and talented co-workers; excellence in performance is generally appreciated by most peers and immediate management. Opportunities to shine are available to most everyone.

Complete lack of communication from mid- and upper-management. Lack of focus on core technologies and solid opportunities for revenue. Inability of executives to face reality. Utter lack of leadership in so many areas.
Advice to Senior Management
The best thing that the board of directors could do for this company is fire the CEO, the comptroller, and most division heads and bring someone on board who has experience turning around failing organizations.
