Pros
Car, and other tools of the job were good. Independence to work the territory.
Cons
No raise in the past four years. Constant lay offs
Advice to Senior Management
None, they don't listen anyway
Pros
Good benefits package, decent salary
Cons
large territories, sometimes lack of direction
Pros
It is easy. Cost of living is cheap in Rochester. There are still some brilliant engineers working there.
Cons
You'll probably know more than your boss. And your boss's boss.If you aren't a "lifer" your previous work experience will amuse and amaze them, like cavemen to fire. But beware, that can also scare them if you know more than they do.
Advice to Senior Management
Leave. Seriously. You are horrible. The poor management of this company is what has made it lose 94% of its value i the last 10 years.
Pros
Good compensation for market, both B2C (retail) and B2B opportunities, in competitive markets that challenge you to grow personally, opportunities to move internally. Great name for the resume.
Cons
hard to cut your way to prosperity, trying to do more with less has its limits, advancement opportunities will be limited until growth resumes.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to maintain or grow presence in Atlanta vs Rochester.
Pros
Good people, integrity as a company.
Cons
Struggling to make the transition to a commercial print company. Success questionable.
Pros
Technology was state of the art and company was a leader at one point. Great benefits. Fair in work schedule and flexible for personal time off.
Cons
There was not a lot of room for advancement unless you relocate and the salary range was lower than industry standard. No salary increase at all the last four years of work nor were there any other bonuses. Work got frustrating because of the constant downsizing the past four years.
Pros
Polite employees w/ good talent
Cons
little bit conservative company to get promoted
Advice to Senior Management
need more diversified managment to build a good vision
Pros
Good technical teams, good people
Cons
Company does not have a corporate level vision, not good at commercialization
Advice to Senior Management
It is unclear where the company is going, and I suspect I will not recognize the company 5 years from now.
Pros
Great co-workers and former Creo technology is the shiznit.
Cons
Middle and upper management is nothing but Doobs and Tunts.
"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."
-Albert Einstein
Unfortunately Kodak GCG received an unfair portion of the infinite stupidity of the universe.
Advice to Senior Management
If Kodak management spoke only when they knew what they were talking about, a deathly hush would descend upon the earth!
Pros
This has been the best company I ever worked for and I've been treated very well overall. The company offers a competitive salary, fair benefits and a flexible work schedule. Some opportunities offer creative and technical latitude.
Cons
This company is seriously hurting due to a major slow down in it's traditional and core businesses. The IT department is struggling to maintain legacy systems that are no longer key for growth. In general there is a significant shortage of talented people due to a recent mass exodus.
Advice to Senior Management
Management is driving the company into the ground. In the past five years the majority of management has been replaced by former HP executives at the leadership of our fearless CEO. You need to start investing seriously in new technology if there is ever to be a future. Increasing marketing effort is useless if the company doesn't have anything customer's want to buy. George Eastman is dishonored by the current management approach, it's time to clean house for a chance at a real future.
