I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good health benefit and unemployment packages. Good working environment.

    Cons

Always in Re-Organization. Changed reporting managers almost every half year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stabilities of management and future goal should be clear for all the employees.

I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexibility on where and who to see, Expenses were easy, company car, salary was high but at the cost of commissions

    Cons

never have gotten insurance information, management doesn't get out goals until April, commissions were based on 2002 goals, shrinking portfolio, small window of future wrong people have control of accounts. Account managers, are not hunters but are trusted with being the lead.. SOME refused to add to their base. Not for the good of the company but just to help with plan..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

LOWER the salary and increase the commissions, Let stars be stars and let the dead weight fall

I worked at Eastman Kodak part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Co-workers were fun to be around and my old supervisor really knew how to keep people motivated and enjoy being there.

    Cons

Corporate had ridiculous expectations of the workers. Did not let you relax. Worked 11 hour days and was forced to take breaks equal to 4 hours so I was only paid for 7 of those hours. I was technically part time so working 35 hours in a week, corporate put me on a blacklist and demanded my supervisor cut my hours. Then when 3 separate employees complained they transferred him away and they replaced him with a supervisor that didn't know what he was doing. The employees that complained were problem people in the company anyways and were soon terminated so it showed that corporate did not conduct any investigation on the matter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get their act together and have realistic expectations. Give hourly and commission pay when we have to put up with people angry that their photo costs more than their meal.

    Pros

Good Support from the Executive Management Team and the opportunity to advance within the organization.

    Cons

Long hours and you need to work until the entire production is completed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Executive Management Team did not have a good vision for the company.

    Hurtling toward the future

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at Eastman Kodak

    Pros

Worthwhile place to work when it knew what its business was. After selling off almost anything that customers would recognize as "Kodak," it's unclear what its future will be.

    Cons

Out of touch management, though the new CEO may well clean house. Archaic internal systems, lack of succession planning and true employee development. Senior people are leaving and the solution appears to be: hire interns.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be prepared to tell the New Kodak story in 30 seconds or less. Ditch the powerpoints. Be authentic. If you don't have a great storyteller on your team, hire a skilled P-R and media relations person who can teach your team to tell that story to your customers.

    Pros

Not many that I can think of other than they offered lump sum for the retirement plan (was "stuck" on annuity only)

    Cons

Where to begin? Management could care less about their employees. So many of them are ineffective, but rake in big bucks. Wish I could do that...I didn't get a raise in over 5 yrs

I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Free admission into whatever theme park you were located at, Commission pay in addition to hourly wage, amazing co-workers. Never a dull moment!

    Cons

Hourly rate was horrible! Lowest paid employees in our area. Always on the go with minimum breaks throughout your shift. Non-management knew more about photography than most of management staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

People were always good to work with. Loved what I was doing.

    Cons

Downsizing every 6 months since 1982, lost many good people. Too much management for the amount of workers they were responsible for. In the area I worked in too much micro managing since there were too many bosses. If they keep more workers doing the jobs instead of letting them go, the company would have been more successful in completing functions.
