I worked at Eaton Aerospace (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people that mean well but get caught up in politics and bad management decision making.

    Cons

Poorly run organization that does not follow processes which makes working there very frustrating and difficult on a daily basis. The only way to cope with working there is to "stop caring" and getting caught up in the bad decision making. Just do what you are told and don't worry about the consequences assuming it does not jeopardize product/customer safety.

    Advice to Management

Focus on process, procedures, and standardization that WORKS! Stop work around them and finding ways to circumvent them just to get the product out the door at all cost! Focus on doing it right not just getting it out the door.

I worked at Eaton Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company has come a long ways in two years. Still running a bit too lean, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. New leadership is making lots of changes and holding people accountable.

    Cons

Typical big company issues. Slow to hire and slow to fire. Aerospace leadership has changed a lot causing some uncertanty

    Advice to Management

Stay the course. Try to hire some more capacity so things aren't so lean.

    Cons

They will let you take on as many responsibilities as you want without regulation. Not able to hold "sister sites" to their commitments. Team is spread throughout the world.

It was a great company to work for , with very friendly employee, great products, great prouction and inventory control, very advance manufacturing software and nice and intelligent boss

I have been working at Eaton Aerospace full-time

    Pros

The work Is very high-tech see you get to use a lot of engineering background. With such a large high-tech company there are many opportunities to work with many experts in the field. The projects are very interesting. There's also any opportunities for training.

    Cons

The pay is a little low for the amount of responsibility that they expect you to take on. The stress level is pretty high.

    Advice to Management

Either the pay needs to go up or the level of responsibility should go down for the same pay.

  11. Helpful (1)

High-pace environment where there is a lot of talk of "improvement" but its a lot of lip-service.

I have been working at Eaton Aerospace full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is a strong need for dedicated people, with a tremendous amount of work in this plant; as management would call it "lots of opportunities," so there is very good job stability and low risk of losing your job over something petty. The pay is mediocre for engineers, but low compared to other recent graduates in engineering. There are schooling benefits and health care that are comparative to other large companies.

    Cons

The plant is stuck in a 1950's Union Member mentality. Its incredibly hard to make any positive changes to production. Its a low volume, high mix plant with a lot of turnover in engineering and manufacturing. Due to high turnover in salary employees, current salary employees are overworked and are burned out.

    Advice to Management

Do not accept work from customers that we aren't capable of completing and committing to unrealistic delivery dates! Don't push orders to the floor and wonder why there's problems with the order being scrapped when you haven't given middle management (engineers and supply chain) time to actually plan the work! So many problems could be avoided if your people weren't spread so thin. Do not play political games with your employees; be transparent with what the actual needs of the client are.
