Pros
This is a good company althought pay could be better. The management has a clue, and the general work place culture is ok
Cons
The pay is low for the work
Advice to Senior Management
listen to all employees
Pros
Pension is about it and you can call in sick as many days as you like, if you are that type of employee.
Cons
Have employees that take 20-50 day's off per year for being sick, or so they claim.
Work with people that are not experienced or professional.
Upper Management in Raleigh is old boy's network and don't understand sales.
Some employees milk the system and take 3 hour lunches, are full of excuses, and their manager protects them.
There are certain Manager's there who don't like conflict and have no backbone when it comes to addressing under-performing employees.
Preach ethics, but employees sametime each other all kinds of thing's which are not ethical.
They fire good employees who do their job for unfair reasons and keep those that don't even work.
Advice to Senior Management
What Management?
Pros
very good company with lots of cake and cookies to eat, makes me very hungry. i love cake so that's why they are good
Cons
they could use some new products. allow people to be inventive and creative and allow for growth. i love cookies.
Advice to Senior Management
keep doing what your doing. i like the cookies and cake but i would really love some new products please
Pros
Good company to work for if you like living in Cleveland Ohio, the compensation is fair for the amount of work that you have to put in
Cons
Sleepy midwestern culture makes change almost impossible for Eaton as most of the thinking is a component or widget company
Advice to Senior Management
Sell the company to a large international competitor so that you can secure the most number of north american jobs
Pros
It is open and fair work place.
Cons
Benifit is not good. It is limited space to grow up.
Advice to Senior Management
open and fair
Pros
Work-life Balance
Fantastic learning opportunities
Exposure to new technologies and trainings
Cons
Excessive politics can get in the way of all the Pros
Nepotism
Extremely poor HR policies
Pros
friendly people, clost to home
Cons
too much overtime required and not many young people
Advice to Senior Management
keep up the good work, good team
Pros
Eaton has some solid leaders at the top but most of the time it does not trickle down to middle management. Both Sandy Cutler and Rick Fearon are strong leaders and are moving the company in a good direction.
Cons
Managers are not strong leaders and do not know how to motivate their employees. Some depts, like mine, are very old school in the way they manage their groups and are not willing to bend. For example, working virtually is not a concept they would even consider.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to work harder at motivating and showing by example. If you are a manager, your reports are just as much a priority as your workload.
Pros
This is a great opportunity to really make a difference. I feel empowered and supported by management to make positive changes. The company takes its culture and values seriously. We do business right!
Cons
By cutting back during the recession the salaried workforce became pretty thin so we work very hard. But we are hiring so things are looking good.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work and always make sure to listen and empower your employees
Pros
If you already got a job there well hang to it because this is hard to get a better one now and if your conditions are fair enough to stay why change.
Cons
The HR department hire staffing agency from Texas (because no other agencies want them as a customer in Sarasota/Bradenton) for as low as $8.28 per hour to fire them out 4 days during a work rush in front of everybody for no good reason because they state they have a problem with the agency and after contacting the agency they say that the employee does'nt work out there !
Advice to Senior Management
Give a briefing to HR people on new corporative policies for agency workers or else kick these unprofessional HR senior and HR junior clerk who act like kids out for good.
