    Excellent Company to work for.

Cash Applications Specialist (Current Employee) Cleveland, OH

ProsThe company offers opportunities for advancement, and will promote from within. The company is always hiring and there are plenty of opportunities to move around within the company. Senior management is excellent and very helpful when needed.

ConsMuch overtime required for this position, jobs being sent overseas to Pune, India, contractors are compensated poorly for the amount of work they are expected to complete.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider keeping more jobs in the US.

Good place to start a career with a decent leadership development program and cross business assignment opportunities

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood culture and ethics in the U.S. but it gets a bit more blurred as you move overseas. Compensation above market.

ConsSlow decision making and missed opportunities in fast paced market such as China. Senior mgmt mostly from overseas without intimate understanding of local needs and know-how to develop relationships

Advice to Senior ManagementHitting numbers are important and we all know that, but don't forget it's the people that help hit the numbers. Treat those people well and understand what they really need. Otherwise you are driving good people to your competitors.

    Very Ethical Company

Marketing Manager (Current Employee) Pittsburgh, PA

ProsGreat prospects for growth if you are willing to relocate often. Great management team with a very serious focus on doing business the right way. Emphasis on a culture of Safety at work place.

ConsWork life balance is tough. Personal growth is sometimes dependent on the type and location of the business unit. Past experience is not valued as much as your experience in Eaton.

Advice to Senior ManagementSimplify internal processes to be more nimbler and faster. Empower the sites to make larger decisions. There should be more emphasis on growth through introduction of newer products and services.

    Good company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood promotion opportunities, great training, family oriented. Most of the people here are good to work with and truly care about you.

ConsCooper integration is beleaguered with issues. Some of the roles are overworked and some are less so. No analysis of workload..

Advice to Senior ManagementWithin Cooper, more communication is needed. There is a lot employees don't know about what is going on within the company that, if known, could help them do a better job.

Eaton Values are only for record , but it is different out there

Head Purchasing VGI (Former Employee) Pune (India)

ProsSafe Heaven for Underperformers ( Lot of Sand Bagging in Goals) provided you along good with your manager. Moderately competitive Remuneration to Market . If you are afraid of taking onus of your decisions , best place to work as all decisions are either top driven or are made over collectively.

ConsLeadership here is busy in promoting himself/herself , so do not bother them with your issues
If you are a domain expert , chances of your decision getting implemented are as strong as others in your team who do not know much because "calibration" is the DNA of Eaton's Decision Making
Undue Focus on Employee Satisfaction Index and Managerial Effectiveness , hence very tough life for Manager of People. You can not afford to rate your subordinate for underperformance as Manager of Managers shall make the buck stop at you as his numbers of ESI & ME need to be correct.
Skip Levels for MOP's are only for the record , actually they are mot meant for you. Never believe the Ombudsman Process , they are there only to facilitate your Leaders' Motives
