Pros
Highly ethical company and treats their employees fairly, good learning environment, highly educated and experienced senior leadership, professional work environment. Good pay for what you do and benefits are good as well.
Cons
Work load at times can be heavy with high pressure deadlines that are sometimes unrealistic and cannot be accomplished. Merit increases can be a bit flat.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work in creating a safe and ethical work environment. Listen to the feedback given on the employee survey and take it seriously.
Pros
Strong internal hire rate
Performance based promotions/pay
Consistent performance management system
Learning and development culture
Industry leader in many markets
Good benefits
Fast paced
Cons
Political
Inconsistencies across groups/divisions
Inconsistent management and leadership (some are strong and some are not)
Information not always evenly dispersed throughout organization
Likes to run lean (= high work load for employees)
Hard to make decisions quickly due to too many decision makers that are not on the same page
Advice to Senior Management
Policy and processes need to be communicated and enforced consistently across the organization
Don't let politics cloud decision making
Make sure management is on the same page (or they receive proper training on how to act like managers)
Pros
Flx time, good work environment, good people
Cons
deadlines are often not reasonable
raises are generally flatened out across the organization
management does not share the direction of the company to the lower members
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate direction and don't just give it lip service
Also, a large amount of meetngs does not mean you have communcated anything
Pros
good stock performance and shareholder value
Cons
very little opportunities for change
Advice to Senior Management
remove all the layers and make it easier to accomplish things
Pros
Eaton is good company to work having its own ethics.
It is growing at high speed currently. Working environment is fair enough.
Cons
Usually the new joiner will get the more salary than the existing employee.
there are some departments where environment is little unhealthy.
Advice to Senior Management
Give some good hike in salary, else people will be unsatisfied.
Avoid the frequent management changes.
try to concentrate on work-life balance.
Pros
Good work place that will allow you to advance in the job. A lot of opportunities to advance. Great environment. Good Luck
Cons
Crosstraining needs to be promoted more to allow individuals to be multifaceted in the workplace A better out look of how you will advance in the company
Advice to Senior Management
Eaton is a great company. I think the only improvements would be to outline the what are the expectations of each employee
Pros
Focus on doing business the right way.
Cons
Manufacturing environment can be heavily influenced by economic factors.
Advice to Senior Management
Great job of keeping employees informed of businees decisions.
Pros
Very laid back work environment. Company is headed in the right direction for becoming a major player in the electrical sector.
Cons
Hard to get promoted. Middle management is lacking. Merit raise process is difficult to understand and sometimes unfairly measured by management.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep employees in the loop on the state of the business and results. I believe they do this very well.
Pros
* Strong management team.
* Able to weather economic cycles 1) Quality First of the Japanese Scare 2) Technology Rebrand of the global parity - extinction of siliconless manufacturing in the US.
Cons
* Backwoods locations to take advantage of cheap labor and local / state government development flows.
* Increase professional development.
Advice to Senior Management
* Hire more professionals for the US rather than international MBAs.
* Increase projects and products for smart grid, green wave.
Pros
Plenty of job opportunities (domestic and international), competitive salary, GREAT benefits (defined benefits plan and defined contribution plan), wonderful people (for the most part), great culture (again, in most locations)
Cons
While there are plent y of job opportunities, the chances of getting a job you desire is slim...usually if they already have someone in mind do not waste your time in appying. The hiring practices are not fair especially regarding minorities in the organization. It may not be the way that I am stating but you know the saying, "Perception is reality." Undesiable locations for a younger work force who desires to have a life outside of work.
Advice to Senior Management
Be fair and consistent in your hiring practices. Do not put one candidate down just to promote another. Have some consideration for work/life balance.
