ProsPaid training. Good healthcare, that you pay for

ConsNo 401k, pay for all healthcare. Will suck you in to open accounts then boot you or you will quit and they will keep your accounts.

Avoid this job

Inside Sales Representative (Current Employee)

I have been working at Echo Global Logistics

ProsSome of the people are fun to be around
Hours are tolerable

ConsPay was under minimum wage until you reach certain sales levels
Commission isn't available until seven months of service
Management has no interest in your development
"Churn and burn" culture with employees

Advice to Senior ManagementUntil they start paying people a decent wage, there is no reason to work for this company.

Bad pay and no opportunity

Client Sales Representative (Current Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I have been working at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than a year

ProsYoung/ fun culture. Relaxed work environment.

ConsCompensation is terrible compared to other sales jobs. There isn't much internal opportunity here. Good stepping tone to leave and get a better job which most people end up doing. Huge turnover here.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Excellent Training, Few Opportunities for Long Term Growth

National Account Manager (Former Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I worked at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than a year

ProsThe LTL training program was excellent. They've reformatted it a bit since I was hired, but Echo was my first supply chain job. It was a thorough and comprehensive introduction to LTL transport.

ConsVery high turnover. Salesmen complain of "lead-lock," or a lack of available prospects to call on. Disputes over leads and accounts are frequent and usually settled in favor of senior reps, so it's difficult to gain traction as a young salesperson. Sweeping changes in benefits and commission structure were made without warning.

Filled with false hopes. Plenty of hard work and nothing in return.

National Account Manager (Current Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I have been working at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than a year

ProsYoung, fun work environment for the most part. Snacks and sodas and coffee provided. Opportunity to make a good amount of money.

ConsPlagued with favoritism, micro-management, and executives who don't care about 90% of their employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake care of everyone, quit hiring everyone for sales and then giving them other jobs. Source people and train them for the jobs they will be doing in the company.

Entry-level logistics, cold-call center

National Account Manager (Former Employee)
Dallas, TX

I worked at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than a year

ProsLaid back environment
Very little structure
Extensive training

ConsYou do not make over your base salary for the first year, and when you do start getting commission it is easily taken away. Logistics is a cut throat industry, not for the faint of heart. The first year will feel like you are only working in a call center, and becomes very boring after about 3 months. There is not much room for growth in the company; management is more set in stone.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere should be better incentives for good work, besides a bar tab.

Account Executive

Account Executive (Former Employee)
Chicago, IL

I worked at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than a year

ProsGood Young Environment. The people working in your group are usually helpful and supportive with the workload.

ConsThere is little mobility. You can change positions, but it will not be reflected in any kind of pay increase. The management is misdirecting in their plans for the future, and inaccurate about what the roll out plans are for updates and products that are supposed to ease your work. It is a long day and with very little reward.

Advice to Senior ManagementComplete projects, do not try and launch 5 different initiatives when 4.5 will not take off properly because everyone is spread too thin.
