Pros
Really good people. I never wake up dreading to go to work. Even if I have a tough day my co-workers pick me up.
Cons
If you're in sales, it's not easy at first. Once you get traction you can do very well.
Advice to Senior Management
The company seams really stable and still has a growth mentality. As long as the exec team doesn't loose that mind set, the company can continue to grow and gain market share.
Pros
Great money at the sales level
Cons
Lack of follow through by senior management
Advice to Senior Management
step your game up
Pros
Very young and energetic atmosphere
Fast paced work enviroment
Challenging work
Cons
Benefits are horrible
Treated as a number by senior management
Compensation is mediocre at best
Advice to Senior Management
improve benifits, and make people feel like they are appreciated if they deserve it!
Pros
They are very professional and very honest. It is a very good company and there is a lot of room for advancement.
Cons
It takes a certain type of person to do sales. If you cannot handle the heat then get out of the oven.
Advice to Senior Management
I do not have much advice of how to improve. I think their system is great and it seemed like a great company to work for.
Pros
You will learn a lot about logistics. The trainning is very good and you will be ready to hit the floor when the time comes.
Cons
The pay could be better. The comp plan for commission could be adjusted so that you are better rewarded for your hard work.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay your employees better. Work on comp plans. I think employees on the east coast would like to have the option to come in around 8:30.
Pros
I look forward to coming into work everyday becasue the people who sit around me are hillarious! Everyone works really hard and is helpful, but at the same time can make the work day enjoyable. Its a good mix of sales and account management. Its difficult in way you wouldnt expect. As long as you are self-managed and take responsibility for your own customers then you will do fine. Its a young and entrepreneurial atmostphere-very competitive-but not in a bad way. You dont have to work on the weekends and if your sick or take a day off you can still keep an eye on things from home so you dont feel completely overwhelmed when you return. The potential to make a lot of money and for advancement is there-you just have work hard. Nothing will given to you and you are not mico-managed(yes, you are hounded on numbers sometimes, but thats sales) but the job is what you make it. If you work hard, you will get results and you can get help if you ask for it, but no one is going to hold your hand. If you compare where you could be in 5 years with Echo to 5 years with another company-its exceptional- you really have invaluable experience you can take with you to any other company.
Cons
They pay isnt great to start off with, but if you hang in there long enough it makes it worth your while. Sometimes you have mean cutomers and things go wrong that are out of your control -but in the end its a learning expereince and the pro's outweigh the cons. A handful of people are just plain dumb, but I guess you will find that anywhere you go. The first year is pretty rough but they have been changing around departments and comp plans and I think its for the best. I can foresee the change being discouraging for people stuck in the transition but a HUGE improvment if you start off on the new one.
Advice to Senior Management
Most of the management is exceptional, but every so often you get one of those with an inflated ego on a power trip. The supervisiors who do an exceptional job need to be rewarded MUCH greater than the mediocare ones. Everyone should be required to read the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People". They need to realize that exceptional sales people dont always make the best managers and execptional managers were not always the best sales people.
Pros
Freedom for creativity, technology, challenging projects, great team members
Cons
There is a general level of disrespect specifically in the IT department between management and non-management team members. This sometimes gets in the way of what could be a much more productive and positive environment.
Advice to Senior Management
make adjustments.
Pros
Very young energetic environment
Good Location
Cons
No respect for work done
Micro-Management by all managers
Horrible compensation
Advice to Senior Management
Respect those who run the daily operations of your company
Pros
entry level logistics, get your foot in the door in the world of sales or logistics
Cons
0 upward mobility potential, 0 job well done recognition, lots of scare tactics used and micro-management, commission structures are laughable
Advice to Senior Management
Loose the spiffs and correct the commission structures, how about a job well done once in a while?
Pros
good hours and easy work
Cons
it is an old boys club
Advice to Senior Management
management does a good job
