    Pros

The pay is pretty decent if you put in the effort. There are many opportunities to move up and learn, but only if you seek them.

    Cons

Industry testing standards (ISTQB) are not met nor enforced. Benefits not very good.

    Advice to Management

Invest in more trainings for bottom level testers, present more incentive to go the extra mile.

    Pros

A very good experience in the terms of on the job training and job demands. Compensation is average. But since the team you will work for is a small one you will get good experience. Besides you get to watch unlimited television in your cabin !

    Cons

Growth is slow here. Once you start here there might be growth in compensation but not in the position

    Advice to Management

Management is very good at echostar. Especially there are a lot of activities for interns and the people are awesome !

    Pros

    * lots to learn and do - there are always new and exciting projects to work on
    * surrounded by smart people - whether you are talking with the folks at ETC, ESS, or Sling you are always around by truly smart people
    * decent benefits - not the best, but not the worst - for the average healthy person the benefits are just fine plus the company gives free money towards HSA. Solid financial perks - 401k matching, profit sharing, employee stock purchase, etc

    Cons

    * leadership is a bit out of touch - the work environment has changed over the years and employees work harder because of it - executive management needs to update their perspective on culture to help keep the good employees
    * there are no incentives for top performers to continue to be top performers
    * job responsibilities are flexible and little recognition (increases) are given to those taking on new work
    * lack of good management training - most things don't happen because managers don't think they can or don't know how to get them done. A good training program for managers will help them to be better decision makers and can help to develop and reward top talent more.

    Advice to Management

Better overall management and leadership - please empower your Directors and Managers to be better leaders. Encourage them to be advocates for their employees to ensure they have what they need to be successful - whether that is better increases, better work life balance (more time off), recognition, advancement opportunities, etc. Please stop settling for complacency and stop assuming that employees will always work day and night to get the job done to get very little in return and stop letting weak employees continue to be weak - develop them into good talent or let them go.

    Pros

Difficult to list any. Sr. Management hides behind a good ol boy, old school entrenched culture. Management Disconnected from the actual employees hard work and their actual needs to fulfill arduous requirements.

    Cons

When your sending your employees internationally, take care of them. While traveling for EchoStar in India I contracted the debilitating disease dengue virus. Company abandoned me, waited 2 weeks while I lay in hospital before passing me along to a work comp claim. Lost tens of thousands of dollars and eventually forced to leave the company.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and their best interest, we dedicate ourselves to the company. Have the compassion, decency, ethical and moral commitment to do the same for your employees while you place them in harms way and dangerous environments and harsh conditions. Don't turn your back on unique situations, do what's morally correct.

    Pros

Open atmosphere to innovate. Lots of challenges. Flexibility exists once you prove yourself. If you have a thirst for knowledge and can bring ideas you will be heard. Great open door policy. HR is dong its best to remove the old DISH culture. Things are significantly better with a top company growth attitude.

    Cons

Not for the faint of heart. Need to be adaptable.

    Advice to Management

    Less micromanagement
