Pros
Company vehicle with fuel card
Good 401k program with match
company has a generally good reputation in the industry
most of your coworkers are helpful and team players
Cons
biggest competitor will be other ecolab employees. Territory boundries are non-existant or not enforced.
Current bonus structure is complicated and almost impossible to acheive. Income growth is slow or stagnant.
Very cliquish. If your not one of the 'in' crowd, your not going anywhere.
Current street level managers are generally incompitant compared to what they used to be. Most could care less about the people that work for them, only about themselves and getting ahead.
There are two types of people that work for ecolab, those that can do nothing wrong (the 'in' crowd), and those that can do nothing right.
If your working for them, and not promoted before your 35, get out. The only ones that are looked on favorably are white males, under 40 years old with a full head of hair.
Advice to Senior Management
The territory manager position used to be the backbone of the division. All the talk of 'inclusion' is just that, and most of the people in the street know it.
Pros
Great people willing to help each other out, solid benefits, opportunity to work in multiple job positions. Opportunities for global exposure and work experience. Growing company with strong financials and promising future.
Cons
Managing up culture that has gaps in providing an environment where people can do their best work. Hierarchal structure with too much managing up and not enough team development and collaboration.
Advice to Senior Management
Upper management should focus more on team and people development and less on the daily business management. Empower your employees.
Pros
more profesional looking and have corp type structure
benefits alittle better than other companies!
Cons
a lack of private time,no reciprication when they need you to work versus you needin private time!
no real employee protection for youre job! pay vs hours worked are terrible(working weekends on vacation time for over time for no extra pay !)
Advice to Senior Management
care about what employees needs are in thier private life and be flexible like ecolab used to be(especially since this job can spill fregently into an employees private time! )give more help from supervisers epcially with giving private time like vacaions weekends and when problem arises with accounts! stop over promising employees time when selling acounts when no extra compensasion is given for more work!
Pros
Friendly and relaxed environment, work life balance
Cons
technology is very backwards and lacks of innovation, which is very frustrating to work with.
Advice to Senior Management
invest heavily in technology innovation, get more IT suppot as it is definitely too short-staffed. Hire more young people to promote positive new thinking and changes.
Pros
company car put your own gas in it but there car
Cons
everything no balance between work and home
Advice to Senior Management
get a clue of what you put good people through
Pros
Good products and good brand. Lots of global reach and great customer to take care of.
Cons
Promotional opportunities vary based on who you know. Lots of people kiss up to get ahead. They don't necessarily look at the field of high performers before making their choice. Pension being cut back.
Advice to Senior Management
More work life balance for employees and have a way to report over bearing supervisors and people not treating people fairly. Many employees still afraid to discuss issues for fear of retribution.
Pros
The training has been great. Supervisor is not peering over your shoulder.
Cons
Down scaling of pay. There is no way to advance your salary.
Pros
Plenty of opportunities for advancement, learning, great people, responsible company.
Cons
Compensation appears to be a bit below market for finance professionals.
Pros
Highly ethical company. Strong competitor in great markets. Invests in technology to be successful. Strong culture, history of success and committed associates.
Cons
Not strong in IT functions / needs to invest in technology and field enablement. Has been successful but has not invested in some key areas.
Advice to Senior Management
Develop talent, make investments for growth. Work to facilitate better teamwork across the divisions and functions. Drive more diversity (age / race / gender etc...)
Pros
Company vehicle provided that you can use for personal use
Health benefits, 401k
Pay is decent
Ability to make your own schedule
Cons
You are the installer and repair person as well as the sales person
Equipment will take over your horme
Training is terrible- and could be very dangerous as they do not train on how to safely work around electrical, dishmachines, etc
Upper management makes promises that territory managers will do service work that they are not capable of doing in order to make a sale and then they are no where to be found once work needs to be completed.
Upper management makes promises that they don't keep
Advice to Senior Management
Train your employees! You can't expect them to be repair people if you can't provide the training. Or just bring back the installers that you laid off.
