    Pros

Excellent company to work for - very positive, professional, supportive environment. Encouraging of employees to continue to learn, grow and develop, and provides a mentor program and other opportunities for self-motivated individuals to take advantage of.

    Cons

It is difficult to move between departments, specifically from entry-level positions (ex: customer service) into professional/management roles. Often need to leave the company for outside experience and come back to move up.

    Pros

Company Vehicle w/ gas card, field staff have no real office to report to everyday, freedom to be out on your own (as long as you produce), Computer, cell phone. benefits aren't close to what they use to be and getting worse.

    Cons

The culture of this once great company is changing so rapidly in the name of cost savings and hunting for the next buy out, that they are letting their greatest assets fall right through their fingers, "their people". The turnover has become ridiculous for such a "stable" long term employer of so many individuals, to start out sourcing so many jobs. "Everywhere it Matters" must not apply here anymore!!

    Advice to Management

Think of your people as your biggest assets not your biggest liabilities!!

    Pros

Beautiful campus with wildlife and hiking trails. Company gym, and nice cafeteria. Calm campus and company does try to promote a healthy work life balance.

    Cons

Company culture is stuck in the 50's. No diversity, overt sexism and nepotism. It's not so much the lack of women at the top, as much as the absolute lack of men in the lower pay grades.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring carbon copies of yourself.

    Pros

Good pay and Benefits. Stock options and great 401K match! Lots of really great people to work with, and depending on which building you work in, the culture is awesome. Many opportunities for training and volunteer experience.

    Cons

Current job duties are not clearly defined in my current role. Work-life balance is hard to come by depending on what projects are highest priority. Non-union shop with Union mentality. Upper management makes drastic decisions without thinking through the consequences to production downtime. With money (product) being the primary driver in the production plant, it's easy to lose sight of the culture that Ecolab strives to maintain.

    Pros

It's a steady full time job.

    Cons

Company benefits are less every year. Only some positions have advancement opportunities. Training materials are not provided. No recognition for work done. Advancement to other positions depends on who you know not how hard you work.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the "good ol' boys" system.

    Pros

Very flexible and an amazing team. Communication between peers and being able to rely on your team for help in any situation. Being able to self maintain your own environment and our direct manager trusts and values our input

    Cons

Contract positions everywhere. If you're contract you aren't included in a lot of "company get together" even though most positions are contract ones. Its hard to be hired on as a regular employee.

    Advice to Management

Your contractors are just as valuable as your full time employees. Being able to attend work functions without being secluded from them, makes us feel like we're valued and a part of the Ecolab family. Even if we can't be hired on, we'd like to feel included as if we had been. Especially for long term contract people
