    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Eden Prairie Public Schools full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

EPS provides you the opportunity to grow through professional development in technology, STEM, and Responsive Classroom. Parents are a strong and supporting element to the job. Working with a young-group of passionate educators at a relatively new school.

    Cons

Long hours without much compensation. If you have children, the health insurance is rather expensive. The district has gone through many curricular initiatives in the last 8 years making it hard to stay consistent to one particular practice.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Eden Prairie Public Schools full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great staff and students - a really fantastic school environment. Great teaching and relationships really help the students excel.

    Cons

It's hard work, and can be frustrating at times, but the rewards are worth it. They are kids, after all.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Eden Prairie Public Schools full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Other employees are friendly. Only 6.5 hours a day.

    Cons

Paraprofessionals have no room for advancement. The chances of being hired for an office position are nil. Seems you are stuck being a para.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the paras and their opinions. The know the students better than the teachers.

    Pros

Quality staff and friendly co-workers It is great job to work at when you are raising your family with 9 months of work and 3 months of summer. Employee and parent surveys have begun to be conducted which allows direct feedback to the school district.

    Cons

Benefits plan could be better for the student support staff. Sometimes a typical public employer where it appears that getting problems resolved takes too long.

    Advice to Management

Continue to request feedback from employees.
