Edwards AFB was an ideal location to retire from the military.

I worked at Edwards Air Force Base full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I was able to experience a wide span of aircraft while stationed there. There was always a chance to meet new people and pickup information and knowledge from the more experienced maintainers.

    Cons

I don't recommend Edwards AFB being a first assignment for new enlistees.

  2.

It was the greatest experience working with the aviation test program.

I worked at Edwards Air Force Base full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I was in the Air Force at the time (1968), I was assigned to the base as an aircraft mechanic.

    Cons

The extreme temperatures in the summer (hot!). had to stay hydrated. Regardless of the weather, the greatest experience to work at the location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up with the good work!

I worked at Edwards Air Force Base full-time for more than a year

    Pros

BBQ's talking on your cell phone, playing on the computer during training days.

    Cons

Keep in mind if you are going to work civil service get a lawyer because they will harass you. Double standards are normal for safety. F-100 Aircraft Engine trailer bumpers are 250 lbs and have no hooks for lifting even after idea paper work was done. The wrong ppe for condemned Fukushima engines was used by personnel etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the harassment of your workers via Yahoo, Yahoo E-mail, Radio, job blacklisting, internet, cell phone taping, stalking with people ie Police sirens, Fire Department neighbors etc. Management needs to Grow up; following me across the USA and harassing me isn't going to fix the problems. Remake the tooling.

I worked at Edwards Air Force Base

    Pros

    -Some aspects were very exciting.
-A lot of opportunities for growth.
    -Good travel opportunities.
    -Good benefits.

    Cons

    - Long hours required to get job done. Overtime was not encouraged; however it was often necessary and compensation was less than our hourly rate.
-Although there was a lot of training offered, much of the mentoring/training did not apply to the "real work."

  7.

I have been working at Edwards Air Force Base

    Pros

Great people focused on the test mission, but still have a desire to take care of people.

    Cons

NSPS was a waste of time as a performance personal system.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow more diversity in the workplace. Promote more women and minorities in leadership roles. Have a formal mentoring program. Trial period for new supervisors to see how their employees rate them as supervisors before they are permanent.
