    Pros

Great place to work for if you can get though all of the toxic people that have issues.

    Cons

Most upper management has Narcissistic Personality Disorder NPD and most of these people can't be helped so don't use your time. Many of these type's of Management people have gone though divorce a number of times or have many things lacking in their lives i.e. fat, lack of hair, short, drink etc.

    Advice to Management

That is a hard one Most upper management has Narcissistic Personality Disorder NPD and most of these people can't be helped so don't use your time.

    Pros

Great schedule flexibility 8's or 4/10 shifts, low stress, set hours, federal holidays and benefits

    Cons

Lower pay than competitive commercial companies such as Northrop Gruman, Lockheed-Martin, GE or Pratt & Whitney. Not much room for career advancement. There is not very much money being put into my work center and the attrition rate is very rapid at the moment. No recent hires in years!

    Advice to Management

Value your employees: find bonus and promotion opportunities. Many are leaving to go make more money next door or down the road.

You have the opportunity to conduct test of the World's most advanced weapon systems. You will do things in this job you couldn't do any were else. It is by far the best organization for which I've worked

    Cons

Can't say anything bad about this organization.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I worked at Edwards Air Force Base full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I was able to experience a wide span of aircraft while stationed there. There was always a chance to meet new people and pickup information and knowledge from the more experienced maintainers.

    Cons

I don't recommend Edwards AFB being a first assignment for new enlistees.

    Pros

I was in the Air Force at the time (1968), I was assigned to the base as an aircraft mechanic.

    Cons

The extreme temperatures in the summer (hot!). had to stay hydrated. Regardless of the weather, the greatest experience to work at the location.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with the good work!

    Pros

    -Some aspects were very exciting.
-A lot of opportunities for growth.
    -Good travel opportunities.
    -Good benefits.

    Cons

    - Long hours required to get job done. Overtime was not encouraged; however it was often necessary and compensation was less than our hourly rate.
-Although there was a lot of training offered, much of the mentoring/training did not apply to the "real work."

    Pros

Great people focused on the test mission, but still have a desire to take care of people.

    Cons

NSPS was a waste of time as a performance personal system.

    Advice to Management

Allow more diversity in the workplace. Promote more women and minorities in leadership roles. Have a formal mentoring program. Trial period for new supervisors to see how their employees rate them as supervisors before they are permanent.
