Be very careful!

Product Manager (Current Employee)
Irvine, CA

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for more than a year

ProsGood cafeteria and benefits; nice campus; some smart hard-working people around.

ConsUnethical HVT leadership. The place is toxic and emotionally draining. Morale is low. They will do their best to masquerade the façade, lure you and then abuse you. Do your due diligence well, prior to joining the organization and working for your boss.

Advice to Senior ManagementMatch your words with actions; develop your talent instead of bringing in inept sociopaths.

Edwards is a great small-big company but struggles to think beyond "today"

Group Marketing Manager (Current Employee)
Irvine, CA

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGrowing organization, investing and developing. Working on improving processes. Learning how to be a "big" company.

ConsUsed to being a smaller/start-up company so processes and development pathways are not fully defined. Has a big of "old boys club" leadership mentality too.

Great company, great people

R&D Intern (Former Employee)
Midvale, UT

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences as an intern for less than a year

ProsGreat company to work for, especially in the R&D department. Some of the best co-workers I've had as well.

ConsDidn't have a formalized intern development program like I've seen at other companies, but that is perhaps more related to being in Utah away from headquarters.

Worst time of my life

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Irvine, CA

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences as a contractor for less than a year

ProsGood cafeteria food - very healthy and wholesome choices
Some good people still in the company - they treat their senior management very well

ConsEmployees are disposable and contract employees are usually kept on for 2 years, high job turnover rate, management doesn't want to encourage new ideas or employee advancement, and promotions seem to be based on politics not hard work.

Advice to Senior ManagementActively listen and help your employees achieve their goals.

Management Lacking in Foresight and Leadership Skills

Staff Engineer (Former Employee)
Irvine, CA

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThe campus is nice and continuously improved
The products are good and you know you are helping patients every day
Co-workers are nice people

ConsPolitics are stifling the company, people get promoted without technical skills, more because the upper management 'likes' them
Managers don't know what they are doing and there is no way for them to learn how to improve themselves and develop their employees. Most managers are just looking out for themselves
Constant location shuffling of departments - major loss of productivity during each relocation

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn who the real workers are and reward them, not the 'face' of the projects. Politics are terrible and it will hurt the company in the long run. There are tons of talented people at Edwards, but they are buried under all of the levels of management. Stop overworking the engineers, it's too much.

First Class Company with an *

Director of Sales (Current Employee)
Las Vegas, NV

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for more than 10 years

ProsGreat company with long standing brands that cash flow. Invested in new technologies that will change the way medical procedures are done.

ConsThere is a new element of "petty management" in the company. As a company grows so does the short sighted J&J style of management.

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage ideas and your employees.

An excellent and diverse company committed to advancing vital cardiovascular equipment technologies.

Mechanical Engineering Intern (Current Employee)
Draper, UT

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences as an intern for less than a year

ProsEdwards really cares about each of their employees and patients, and desires to help you with career advancement.

ConsThe pay isn't as competitive when compared to other Mechanical Engineering disciplines in other industries.

Cronyism and corruption at the highest level

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Irvine, CA

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for more than 10 years

ProsTop management is making lots of money

ConsThe CEO and others in upper management are philanderers. They cash out millions in stock while supporting cronyism. Employees' positions are constantly at risk as Edwards trims their payroll each year despite record profits. Company discriminates against older employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementResign and allow others to reform the cronyism and a culture of arrogance at the top.
