I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time

    Pros

great company with great product. excellent employee stock purchase program and good overall benefits. i enjoyed the quarterly meetings.

    Cons

my manager was a huge micro manager so that was my biggest complaint. i would have wished there was more mobility within the company.

    Advice to Management

get rid of low level managers who micromanage if you want to retain young employees. offer rotational programs to help newly employed find what they are interested in.

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Growing Industry Easy going and fun work environment Great Benefits Able to work without constant micro management Help saving lives

    Cons

Lower level jobs are very repetative and mind numbing. Without the proper degree or work experience, there isn't much room to move up. Unless promoted, raises are minimal and only come once per year.

    Advice to Management

Look for more opportunities to advance employees within the company. When job openings occur that aren't degree specific, consult with current employees to see if those jobs would be of interest.

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time

    Pros

Wonderful work environment that is very supportive of family and personal life. Excellent facilities within the R & D Division, very few jerks there.

    Cons

Pay was just barely competitive, occasionally management would get caught up on ideas that engineers found were not promising, lots and lots of focus on deadlines for clinical trials.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the majority of your good work, consider increasing the incentive to contribute to patents. Never loose your sense of humor.

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Job flexibility depending on manager, amazing food at cafeteria, fitness classes, ergonomic accomodations, 401k matching program, PTO/Vacation time up to 3 weeks/year, new buildings, educational opportunities, possible tuition reimbursement, etc.

    Cons

Certain departments don't care how much education you have, the pay rate is designated based on specific job not skill. They rationalize the low salaries with having above avg benefits for employees, but those don't pay the bills. It's a really rewarding company founded on amazing values + led by an inspiring CEO, but because of how most positions pay, I wouldn't be able to stay here long-term.
