    Pros

There is plenty of opportunity to travel and learn new technologies

    Cons

They do not keep up with current pay standards and knowledge and length of service are not rewarded financially

    Advice to Management

Management needs to look at the core employees and recognize those that keep the company moving forward year after year. There needs to be recognition beyond the occassionaly attaboy.

    Pros

Team mates were nice Salary wasn't bad

    Cons

Way to many middle and senior managers. Big discrepancies in terms of salaries. Either you threaten to leave or you won't get a raise. Managers have way too many perks in comparison to others employees. Lacking leadership, vision and forward thinking. Development process still clings to old methods making products lack in features when compared to rivals companies. Teams are way too small for the scale of the projects.

    Advice to Management

Start thinking ahead in terms of products or you will be completely obliterated by the competitions. Salaries should be awarded in terms of merit and actual skills instead of being based in academics. Shrink the structure there are way too many managers and people not actually doing useful things.

    Pros

Great work environment, nice benefits. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Very high discrepancies between salaries for the same function. No career prospects. People are expected to do the same things for several years.

    Advice to Management

Internal recruiting would be nice to make the work environment more dynamic. People spend several years doing the same stuff.

    Pros

Interesting projects and technologies Looks good on CV when applying to Portuguese jobs Might meet and work with some talented people, but depends a lot in the department we are within

    Cons

No career path, unless you are "friends" or family of influential people in the company. No meritocracy. Ridiculous performance reviews. Most of people have fixed working hours, even if you are in R&D.... Huge discrepancy of salaries for the same position. Middle management is useless and they just do as told so they can keep their salary and benefits. Execs don't care about what's going on. If they can keep their credit cards and fancy cars, everything is fine. Long working hours. Outdated development processes that just simply don't work. Audits are ridiculous and embarrassing. Company just keep with certifications due to the company influence in the country.

    Advice to Management

    Just quit...

    Pros

EFACEC is a reference company in Portugal for electrical, electromechanical and automation. Family/work relation well balanced. Some nice parternships with other generic service companies with benefits to employers.

    Cons

Carrer evolution is very hard. Lack of technology training. Sometimes this training must b Too much work to a small sized development team. Stability.

    Advice to Management

Needs to reinforce communication skills in order to assure the commitment of all envolved in a project More empowerment efforts needed.
