Fast growing and a great place to work

Consultant (Current Employee) London, England (UK)

    ProsGood employee compensation
Rapid growth that appears to be sustained. This brings a wide variety of genuine blue chip companies across a wide range of industries. The clients are all big names, and Efficio often works with spends in the millions, so the work makes a real difference to the client
Lots of client exposure - you are not locked away in a room doing data analysis
You are not forced to specialise in one area
Good training course that is well structured and well run
    Great culture and people

ConsSystems and support functions really need to be improved
Can get pushed around by clients - need to be firmer!
Don't always maximise potential of employees - do a lot of experienced hires, but then recruit them a low level and do not use the skills they have already learnt

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't lose focus on the small company feeling - at times management can seem distant to the work being delivered and to the social side of the company

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Very disappointing experience

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) London, England (UK)

ProsThe salaries are above average when compared to similar levels at the Big Fours.

ConsThe type of work is very limited - especially at more junior levels. Excel will be your best friend and people who can run hundreds of line item analysis with ease will progress through the ranks.

The training curriculum is massively lacking and is virtually non existent.

The company culture is also very typical of a small organisation. If you don't emulate the top management you will be on your way out.

Good company if you like sourcing

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Pros- Bright consultants with very strong analytic skills
    - You get responsibility early on in your career
    - Best company to work for if you love sourcing
    - Good package and generous expense policy

Cons- Limited boundaries between personal and professional life
    - The work does not require much creativity and becomes repetitive fairly quickly
    - Some partner practices are ethically questionnable

Advice to Senior Management- Diversify into more general operations work

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Core competency and excellence is also their core downfall

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) London, England (UK)

Proswork is monotonous. excel rules. very smart people, probably wasting their time

Consexcel rules. when it comes down to it, they don't know what to do / how to behave / how to approach. Call themselves a consulting company; it's a spend analysis company. That's it

    Smart, international, great learning

Business Analyst (Former Employee) London, England (UK)

Pros- smart: people with top-notch qualifications, constantly sharing experiences
    - very international company (40+ nationalities when I worked there)
    - great learning: a lot of responsibility early on, much support from (senior) managers
    - good atmosphere

Cons- by nature, the work is heavy Excel-focused. Not for everyone.
    - quick growth sometimes overloads managers

Advice to Senior Management- take care to recruiting evenly across levels, so managers are not overloaded.
    - keep up the good work!

    Excellent fast-growing company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Pros- Lots of responsibility early on; no junior is left in the office just crunching numbers
    - High exposure to senior management
    - Inclusive corporate culture - employees are actively encouraged to get together for social occasions
    - Excellent work/life balance
    - Employees treated as people rather than as "another brick in the wall"
    - Diverse and stimulating work
    - Working with very high calibre and smart consultants
    - The company is undergoing an unprecedented growth which makes a very dynamic environment and gives lots of room for internal progression

Cons- Pressure to deliver can be high at times
    - There is no hiding (ie. if you are good within 6 months most of the rest of the company will know, but the same applies if you are under-performing)

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure that the growth we are experiencing does not impact on the corporate culture; that's what makes this place special!

    Great place to work

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) London, England (UK)

ProsGreat working environment: interesting work with development of skills that can be applied to any consulting firm, fast career progression, great atmosphere and colleagues, good work-life balance compared to other consultancies. Very high quality of work. The management is very approachable, especially the CEO.

ConsIt is true that the company culture is strong, and when one person does not fit in, they do not stay very long.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep looking after your employees as you do today, they are surely Efficio's greatest strength.

    Great company to work for

Senior Consultant (Former Employee) London, England (UK)

ProsVery fast paced development: trainings and promotions are regular.
People are treated as human beings (good recognition).
Exposure to senior management is part of the job even for fresh new employees.
    Good bonuses.

ConsWork life balance can sometime be difficult to manage but is probably better than in many other consultancies.
Hard work required at all time.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on preserving the "small company" feel and invest more time in getting to know the juniors.

There are a lot of worse places in Consulting

Old Timer (Current Employee) London, England (UK)

ProsA very international experience. Grow their own consultants and promote from within. Stable senior management. Some extremely bright and scary people. Do not work weekends.

ConsConsultants are expected to deliver for the clients. Most consultants work long hours.

    Advice to Senior ManagementNone
