    Pros

One can get exposure to work with many offices globally and be involved in regional and global projects. The firm has great minds! Interesting projects for well-known clients.

    Cons

Different offices have different cultures. Some cultures do not match Egon Zehnder's principles. As a result those offices have a problem with employees' retention. There is not much of career progression offered to the research.

    Advice to Management

The management should pay attention and make sure the reputation of the firm remains at the top, especially in the global cities. Not only for clients, but for current and future employees. Diversity & Inclusion principle should be seen in the firm itself first.

I have been working at Egon Zehnder full-time

    Pros

The hours are not bad. The air of contempt that permeates this office leads to a fairly close-knit EA team. All in the same boat, they take comfort in the shared misery of their co-workers. EAs coordinate happy hours occasionally, and it’s a fun bunch of people who tend to stay in touch even after moving on. Organized office outings usually feature an open bar, which gets full and deserved use.

    Cons

Most hostile work environment I’ve ever encountered. EAs are treated with contempt and disrespect. They are not viewed as partners to the consultants, they are viewed as ignorant maids. The consultants are the masters of the manor, and the EAs are “the help,” unseen and unvalued. Very hierarchal, very clear caste system. No advancement opportunity at all. Highly qualified, motivated employees are passed over for roles they are very well suited for, which sends a very strong, negative message to the rest of the staff. The firm likes to hire well-educated, overqualified people, and then tell them, in ways both subtle and not so, that their work is not valued and that they are too stupid to advance. The atmosphere is draining and degrading. Nothing you say will be held in confidence by upper management, despite claims otherwise. Raises and bonuses are a slap in the face. Clueless management demands to know what would improve morale, but “quit treating us like garbage and give us a decent raise” never seems to cross their minds. EAs are forced to listen to longwinded conference calls where the firm brags about its profits, then gets treated to a 20 second meeting where they’re told of the insulting raises they’re going to get. Tone deaf doesn’t even begin to cover this place.

    Advice to Management

There is nothing to say that management would listen to and implement.

    High turnover

    Pros

Take a look at tenure - very low numbers, in general less than 3 years. There is high turnover. Beware!!!!!

    Cons

Look somewhere else if you looking for long term.

    Advice to Management

    Only consultants matter.

I worked at Egon Zehnder full-time

    Pros

Excellent health benefits, good colleagues. Business model is based on firm-wide cooperation.

    Cons

Compensation low when compared to similar positions at competitors. Raises non-existent, cost of living increases laughable, bonuses even more laughable. Training was a weak spot - they just wanted bodies to fill seats in a sink or swim atmosphere. Absolutely NO path for advancement for the administrative staff. Zero. Zilch. No development. Morale was terribly low in that department and the company made it clear consistently and frequently that admins were not valued. Incredibly high rate of turnover in admins and other support staff because of the toxic environment and managers who could never be trusted to use discretion when needed.

    Advice to Management

You are supposed to be global leaders in talent management. You need to do some soul searching on why there is such a high turnover rate in your own organization.

I worked at Egon Zehnder as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Well established company within its sector. Very good work-life balance, with plenty of time off. Currently beating its competitors, and positive outlook for the near future.

    Cons

I was hired as an intern post graduation, with a optimistic opportunity to join the company full time if I performed. Instead, the position was full before I even arrived at the office. In addition, work comes second to most of the employees, with many people choosing to take large amounts of the day doing pretty much nothing. In addition, many of the US offices are filled with old, dead-ended employees.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the large amount of uninterested employees filling up the offices at entry level jobs, and jumpstart the company by making real progression through the ranks possible.

    Pros

Research team is very collaborative. They selflessly work together to lighten each others workload and improve client outcomes. Best colleagues I've ever worked with. Good to learn how recruiters view resumes. If you impress a consultant, you get to interact with clients at a very high level.

    Cons

Research management runs the analysts ragged. Fairly manipulative bunch. Consultants sometimes treat researchers as though they are worker bees. Long hours. No upward mobility besides being lucky enough to manage other research analysts some day.

    Advice to Management

Research management in the US needs an overhaul.

    Pros

Salary on time and yearly bonus, weekends are honored (only in 1 team though)

    Cons

There is absolutely no connect with the parent company; we are not a subsidiary, we are a service provider. Stagnant, you will learn everything in six months, after that it's downhill.

    Advice to Management

Connect with your employees and stop living in a self-made clique / ivory tower.

    Pros

Great Pay, nice people to work with.

    Cons

Lots of micromanagement. The work is pretty boring, very mundane and lots of data entry. Hope you like linkedin. Work hard, no speaking. Think of your typical "Office Space" setting No room for growth. You can work as hard as you want, and maybe after 15 years you'll become a Research Director, but good luck ever becoming a Consultant.

    Advice to Management

You're all very nice people. Nothing bad to report about you, but I guess the industry is very boring by its nature.
