    Pros

Opportunity for advancement, great benefits, great pay, family oriented company

    Cons

    Weak pipeline, upper management clueless

    Advice to Management

Listen to what others have to say

    Pros

Smaller, growing company. Great place to learn. Good corporate structure with central reporting.

    Cons

Company grew too fast and ended up outpacing itself. People placed in positions of increasing responsibility that they were not ready for professionally.

    Advice to Management

Return to core values of company and focus on future growth rather than lost opportunity.

I have been working at Eisai (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is excellent to work for. Management allows flexible work schedules. Pay is excellent. Benefits are the best anywhere in the area.

    Cons

    Not open to new ideas.

    Advice to Management

Promote new blood for changing times.

I worked at Eisai full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice people. Nice Managers. Nice people at corporate office.

    Cons

Everybody seems so busy being nice that they do not make the steps that they need to to get business taken care of. Too many top level positions filled by people who have only worked within pharmaceuticals or Eisai which leads to narrow business acumen.

    Advice to Management

Take fear out of the workplace. No one is quite honest with each other because they are watching out for their jobs and looking up at the next ring on the corporate ladder. No one wants to tell you that your idea or plan is not very good when your the one responsible for their promotion.

    Pros

Working at Eisai has few perks, but I will say that the few include many great people who really care about patients, and about the company's success despite what mgmt does to try to derail it from success.

    Cons

In the same breath, one could say that some of the other people here are really quite a set back for the company.

I have been working at Eisai full-time

    Pros

Ability to work independently to some extent. Industry experience. Pretty good benefits. Medical, dental, 401k, etc. company car for reps.

    Cons

Used to be a great place, but gone are those days. Micromanagement, a marketing department that doesn't know what they are doing and an us vs. them mentality between home office and the sales force. Layoffs are constant.

    Advice to Management

Start treating the sales force with respect and not like children. Give credit to those that deserve it. Look back at the golden days of Eisai and try to emulate it to gain back some morale.

  9. Unfortunate decline of the company

I have been working at Eisai full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are many good people at this company and the pay is good. HHC program for volunteering is inspiring.

    Cons

The company is going through a lot of changes and even management is disorganized. It has become a stressful environment.

    Advice to Management

Communication is important among the ranks. Also, training used to be a priority. Training now consists of throwing product information on reps through the iPad and having weekly half day teleconferences. Let's get back to the training and consultative selling that used to be our focus.

  10. Great company to work for.

I worked at Eisai full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefit, professional environment, respect employees.

    Cons

    Not firmly discipline bad employees.

    Advice to Management

Not create opportunities for employees to broaden their career paths.

I worked at Eisai full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Any pros would be used in the past tense. Was once a good company. Had good benefits but stripped away over the years.

    Cons

Sr. Mgt. at a total loss to make changes. Problem is with sr mgt. HR highly negative towards employees, unprofessional. IT in the Stone Age. R&D controlled out of Japan, repeated failures. Certain depts such legal, BD, compliance, hr and finance overstaffed.

    Advice to Management

Never looked back when I left. Eisai is embarrassing. Anyone looking, avoid at a costs. Yet another round of layoffs coming. Lays offs will not target mgt, that is where the problem is.
