I am sure there are worse places to work in Iran.

I have been working at Eisner LLP

    Pros

Nice work environment. Many events for employee appreciation, such as monthly birthday celebration in office for any birthdays that month, parties for any holiday, random fun events like voluntary dance lessons and performance. Unlimited Keurig drinks. Fresh fruit weekly.

    Cons

The benefits are much more expensive than other accounting agencies. That's one of the main reasons employees leave the company. For my family my out of pocket for a year is about $12,000. There is very little opportunity for advancement for admins. While admins are treated with respect they are thought of as a lower class than the accountants.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Base cost of benefits on compensation, people making five times what I do pay the same cost for their benefits. Provide more opportunity for admins.

I worked at Eisner LLP full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Name recognition in the field.

    Cons

When they took over Amper, they completely changed the corporate culture. What was a family type mentally went to a ruthless bottom line environment, which prompted huge layoffs and people jumping ship to get out. They make their money with Hedge Fund clients and only tolerate the other departments. Some of the Amper partners definitely felt they were sold a bill of goods. I was downsized after almost 8 years in their attempt to hurt my partner. My position was not replaced. They are stretching people to the point of poor client service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to legacy Amper partners regarding their staff before cutting them.

I have been working at Eisner LLP full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Getting bigger and making great moves towards marketing itself and competing with larger accounting firms.

    Cons

the focus seems to be quantity over quality now. before the mergers the company was not this way. some key partners have been retired and it now seems like more of a dictatorship.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

consider the quality of life of managers and below including support staff.

    Pros

    free-flow of ideas is encouraged

    Cons

no room for individuality, now its about conforming to an ideal you may or may not subscribe to

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be fair!!! The promotion process needs a complete overhaul as do some of the hiring practices, if you are not a team player who wants to make the brand better, why are you here?
