Pros
In general, it is a great firm to work with . The management is open to communication and the firm cares about its staff.
Cons
each manager/partner has his/her own style in preparing wps, it can be frustrating if you work for different managers/partners at the same time.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to retain good people; the management may need to pay more attention on good staff and retain them for a long term.
Pros
In general, it's a good environment to work in. Good experience and respectable clients. Training has improved and they really want you to suceed.
Cons
The audit group is too cliquey. Being a member of a committees is not truly open to everyone as time and time again, it seems like the same people are in charge, and that's not because there aren't other people who want to participate. There's simply favoritism at play.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer better insurance and bonuses.
Pros
The people are the best thing about working here. Plenty of happy hours. most of the people are very friendly and warm.
Cons
The medical benefits package is not very good. It's probably worth it to find insurance on your own. Can be a little cliquey. They also sometimes play favorites.
Advice to Senior Management
The only advice would be to offer better medical and dental insurance. Continue the get togethers after-hours -- it really builds the family there.
Pros
work life balance
less pressure
understanding Partners
Cons
Lack of communication about committees formed
Only preferred people (inner circle) given priority on being members of the staff committees formed
bonuses are peanuts
Advice to Senior Management
staff or other committees - give everyone an equal chance
bonuses should be linked to performance which is not the case right now
Pros
Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, friendly colleagues and approachable management. Firm gives lots of PTO and host happy hour parties regularly throughout the year. Volunteering opportunities with EisnerCares group is fantastic.
Cons
Salary could be higher, not one of the big 4, recently understaffed during busy season, health plan is expensive and benefits are practically non-existant
Advice to Senior Management
Offer better health coverage
Pros
Richard Eisner, the firm's founding partner has set the cutlure - everyone is warm, collegial, willing to teach, etc. It's also a strong middle market player, positioning it to compete with both boutique firms and national firms.
Cons
The audit group is a bit cliquey.
Employment there does not carry the same weight as having experience with one of the big four.
Advice to Senior Management
None noted.
Pros
Laid back environment where management will not be down your throat every step of the way.
Cons
Training is horrible, you are basically thrown into the position with little to no experience and expected to work a miracle.
Advice to Senior Management
Train your employees to be successful in order to help the company grow
