    Pros

Great atmosphere. Benefits are great with a wellness program. Flexible with working hours and core times.

    Cons

I am on a contract; which ends December 31, 2015. I feel like I am being held back from my capabilities.

    Advice to Management

Personal growth has been one of my goals for a few years (ex: CHMM, ASP, Or CIH). The company is so busy; it seems like this is not a priority for managers or out of scope for the position. Wellness program is very attractive to all employees and numbers show that productivity increases with these programs.

    Pros

The building is new and has a modern look with adjustable workstations. The location is amenable to commuters from all around. If you are not a contractor, you work from home, mostly.

    Cons

The regulatory section is full of neuroses...a real hamster wheel.
No adequate direct training provided, but that makes sense given the palpable ineptitude of the department.
    Insanity at its best.

    Advice to Management

For this particular location, management needs to have a better eye on what is actually happening on a day-to-day basis. A hostile work environment is not fun. Retaliation is also something that most companies do not allow.

Regulatory professionals should actually know something about regulations (a background in sales does not equal regulations).

Make sure your new hires receive the proper training. When you have a new hire, make it mandatory that the person responsible for training be present instead of "working from home" every single day. That may help.

Value your contractors, because in Gaithersburg, you don't.

Be careful in whom you trust with authority given the high profile of the company. .

    Pros

    Pretty good growth outlook currently

    Cons

Elanco/Lilly has handled the acquisition of this site poorly. Intelligent voices are overlooked. Corporate influence trumps concerns of many hardworking employees. This site has been and is currently being used a stepping stone for some. Favoritism applied to those who are selected by Lilly, not necessarily those most knowledgeable with product/processes.

    Advice to Management

Listen to all employees. Seek, value and apply their input.

    Pros

    Good benefits
    Hunger cause
    Decent vacation time

    Cons

    No work-life balance
Striving to be "big" and losing the core focus on employees

    Advice to Management

Take the time to listen to concerns your employees express and TAKE ACTION. A common complaint is that all too often serious offenses to the company ethics are happening on a daily basis, but the management are too focused on acquisitions and "growing" to realize that they are losing respect of those that are pleading for help.

    Pros

A positive environment, the best people in the industry who are focused on a bigger cause, feeding the world. Genuine and authentic people are what attracted me to this company and keep me here.

    Cons

Driven, hard working people can get burnt out. We put our head down and work harder when needed and sometimes sacrifice balance in our lives.

    Pros

Although perks are average, it has great work-life balance, great people to work with. Small company atmosphere. Very resourceful.

    Cons

Although recent acquisitions provide more career opportunities, people movement is equivalent to its large parent pharmaceutical company. Some departments are better at employee recognition.

    Advice to Management

Maintain your earlier "small" culture. The acquisitions will make you big, strong and profitable but you are loosing that personal touch.

    Pros

The company is continuing to grow which makes for a challenging, but rewarding workplace.

    Cons

Once in position it's hard to move, a minimum of 3 years in a current position before being considered for another more suited for skill set is discouraging. Eliminating the educational benefits/reimbursement caused many talented young people to leave the company.

    Advice to Management

Return the educational benefit to people that make a difference in the company. Education grows a company's base and breeds motivation to stay with a company. Replacing an employee is a more costly expense than tuition.

    Pros

Great "entrepreneurial" and open/transparent culture. Solid core visible (lived-out) values of Respect for People, Integrity, & Excellence. A compelling mission & cause: food and companionship enriching life. No Performance Ratings. Focus on Development. Business growth & career opportunities. Aquiring other companies & technologies that complement existing business model & product portfolio. Most recent acquisition (Novartis Animal Health) will effectively result in 1.5x growth in revenue and employee population. Excellent & approachable senior leadership.

    Cons

As size grows, culture is changing, and experiencing "growing-up" (becoming a "big-boy company" pains). In some ways good (i.e. more robust business processes); in some ways maybe not so good (i.e. more big-pharma-esque; more bureaucracy; less nimble). Supports "work-life balance" but operates with very lean staff (organization undersized; jobs oversized) so W-L balance difficult to realize in some areas.

    Advice to Management

Successfully grow big (deliver more value to customers) while staying culturally small (maintain openness, trust, creativity, innovation) without becoming burdened with big-organization politics and bureaucracy). Create a more fun workplace.

    3. not too much do around clinton area
    4. Improve PM process

    Advice to Management
