Pros
Flexibility if you work for the right manager.
Cons
Employees are numbers. Focused on moving jobs off-shore. Too many mid-level managers.
Advice to Senior Management
Cut management levels. Look at reality vs just how things look on paper.
Pros
Flexible work schedule. Great peers to work with.
Cons
Very low compensation when compared to regional averages for years in industry and skill set.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more attention to what your employee's are telling you. Especially when they are trying to tell you this or that is going to happen if we don't take x, y or z approach to stop it or fix the issue. Don't ignore the problems until they are an emergency. Be more proactive like your employee's are. Recognize key employee's with compensation (i.e. pay raise, bonuses). The 'good job' verbal accolades only approach is nice, but let's be honest here....very few people want to work for free or a below average wage. Bottom line, people want to be paid for what they are worth....just take a look at pay averages and competitor's compensation to see just how far below average EDS is on the compensation issue.
