    Great employees. Fun company.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Boulder, CO

ProsJust started retraining current employees based on employees requesting this. Good growth opportunities and position changes. Contributes to community.

ConsLow pay Insulting .20cent/hour annual raise. Non transparent. People often fired because Senior management is incompetent and blameless. Top heavy with upper level management (above branch managers). Make useless changes and don't listen to feedback.

Advice to Senior ManagementBefore you make across the board changes consult with the employees that your "changes" will affect. Actually listen to them. As a group you are not well respected; specifically Retail, Member Service and HR. You all may have large salaries, but most of us do way more work, bring in more business and don't make one half of your salaries.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Toxic Environment

Area Support (Former Employee) Boulder, CO

ProsDecent pay and benefits, great location, and growing company that is profitable. If you have experience navigating mine fields, have a personality that can put up with and accept ridiculous assignments that don't even apply to you when you're asked to cover for doing the work of peoiple that were fired in other departments, and want to have questionable job security, then you might be okay here.

ConsHarsh office politics, some people are very difficult to work with and quite poisonous in their nature, and untrustworthy CEO. People here will smile to your face and then stick a knife in your back. Those with morals and integrity are cautioned.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Credit union or a bank?

    Sales (Former Employee) Boulder, CO

ProsThe employees at Elevations are truly caring and friendly people, each day is like a group hug. They have numerous celebrations for employees, including barbeques, monthly birthday cakes, and quarterly recognition. Elevations contributes substantially to the community. They have good products.

ConsElevations wants to be the biggest credit union in the area. They have become extremely aggressive in their sales goals and are using the same cross sales tactics the big banks use. Their investment sales team are given quotas that are extremely high. As this is a not for profit membership organization, many feel that high pressure tactics are inappropriate.

Advice to Senior ManagementBeing the best doesn't mean being the biggest and getting the largest bonuses.

Very similar to a bank, with selling goals and customer survey ratings.

    Teller (Current Employee) Boulder, CO

ProsLunches and breakfast are frequently provided. Elevations is big on community involvement and volunteer opportunities. Bonuses are given if you balance your drawer, make your sales goals and have a score of 9-10 (10 being the highest) on your weekly customer surveys. There are only 4 branches in Boulder, with 12 employees being the average per branch, but jobs are available every month. Open until noon on Saturdays.

ConsDaily emails to entire staff stating your job performance and feed back from customers. 3 ft boards of wall of shame or fame showing individuals performances. Cameras film employees 24/7. Supervisors observe you and have constructive criticism on how to improve your dialogue, ie what you could have said differently, what you should have sold, etc. DOS software that is difficult to make corrections and can cause employee to have to stay late to correct. Work schedule for following week is given the Thurs before and there can be changes in two days, so frequently check emails.
